Jabula is a very secluded Mathesons Bay holiday home located on a cliff edge with wonderful views of the sea and Matheson Bay Beach, close enough to watch the waves but far enough not to hear the people. There is a 5 min walking track to the beach which has deep water at all tides and very safe swimming.
Jabula is an older style, on the upper level (there is a 2 bedroom holiday home unit situated underneath on the ground level of this main holiday home which gets rented out separately) and overlooks Mathesons Bay and the reef. There are two bedrooms plus a lounge that has a large concertina door that creates a third bedroom, and can sleep up to 6 people. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the other bedroom has 2 single beds and the screened off lounge end has two single beds. There is one bathroom that has a bath and shower with the toilet being separate.
The lounge, kitchen and dining area are open plan, and have wonderful views to Mathesons Bay below. The kitchen is well stocked and includes a toaster sandwich maker, waffle maker, microwave and electric fry pan. The lounge has comfortable furniture and has a TV and video and there are 2 kayaks and a rubber dinghy plus life jackets in the garden shed that are available for your use to explore the surrounding seaside. There is a laundry with washing machine and tub.
Goat Island Marine Reserve is only 10 minutes away for snorkeling and kayaking from this Mathesons Bay accommodation, 10 min drive for the Matakana Markets on Wed and Saturday, Golf at Omaha or Warkworth a 15 min drive, surfing and horse riding at Pakiri Beach a 20 min drive and Daniels Reef just around the corner. Leigh is a 15 minute walk where there is a corner store with all supplies. Enjoy the walks around Matheson Bay Bush Reserve, Leigh Harbour, Leigh cliffs, Ti Point river walk, Goat Island cliff walk and the challenge of Mt Tamahunga. Sixteen vineyards have sprung up in the area and there are several good restaurants including The Saw Mill Cafe and Ascention Vine Yard. Matakana has a 3 cinema complex showing films 7 days a week.
