Shakespeare Cottage is a 2 bedroom plus sleep out Front Beach bach - a delightful getaway in a bush setting just waiting to create happy holiday memories for couples and families! Please note there are aspects of this property (large rocks and walls) that may make it unsuitable for young children or toddlers.

Shakespeare cottage is a tastefully decorated cosy retreat with uninterrupted views over Front Beach, Mercury Bay and the boats moored in Flaxmill Bay. Sitting at a level above the cottage with the same views is a very tidy sleep out - just the place for another couple or the teenage children.

The property is located between Front Beach and Flaxmill bay. An easy 200m walk allows you to choose either beach - Flaxmill bay is great for swimming or launching a boat. From this location you can easily enjoy the uniqueness of Eggsentric Cafe or walk to Ferry Landing to catch the passenger ferry to Whitianga.

This location is a great base from which to enjoy all that Mercury Bay has to offer - Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, Ferry Landing, Shakespeare Cliff, Lonely Bay, local Wineries, boutique cafe's, Whitianga and much more.

This Front Beach accommodation functions on a single level with a deck connecting living spaces. There are 2 bedrooms, a lounge/dining area, a large central kitchen and adjoining bathroom, WC and Shower. This property is a "work in progress" and the cottage theme continues to evolve as more natural timber and early settler furniture items are added throughout - ongoing developments will add more timber as time goes by. The generous kitchen is NZ Kauri and has a well loved history after spending time in Northland and South Auckland homes before being fitted into Shakespeare...

The lounge has 2 comfortable suites, a coffee table, stereo (with Ipod doc) and DVD.

The main bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed with views out over the boats in Flaxmill Bay and Shakespeare Bluff, the second bedroom has a set of single bunks and a trundler pullout. The cabin provides an additional sleeping area only a few meters away from the cottage, and an adjacent outdoor bath is a wonderful way to spend an evening under the canopy of the bush with the moon filtering through!!

The remainder of the property is largely bush and rocky outcrops. As you walk up the hill through the bush stunning views of Mercury Bay fill the landscape. With the large rocky features we recommend children are accompanied when walking in the bush areas.

The laundry is located in the kitchen area. Parking for 3 cars is available at the cottage level - with more parking down on the road. PLEASE NOTE that there is limited turning space for larger vehicles and therefore only small boats can be considered.

There is a gas BBQ, outdoor chairs and a kayak available...
