Nikau Grove is a friendly family Okiwi Bay holiday home with spacious living areas on a large flat section, close to the beach. Native Bush is at the back door and alive with Tui, Belbird, Kereru, weka and fantail. They sit in the big Titoki tree above our heads and take no notice of what is going on around them. At times the tui and belbird alight on the bottle brush at the end of the deck and check out the nectar in the flowers.

The bedroom upstairs at this Okiwi Bay holiday home has an ensuite and a separate 'snug' with sink, fridge, jug and toaster. A small T.V. with free to air. Two easy chairs and a lovely view out to sea. A deck with table and chairs to sit and watch the boats coming and going.

Downstairs are a second large bedroom, and two smaller rooms with single beds. All rooms have wardrobes. The kitchen is a galley type, standard range - fan oven. Plenty of pots and pans. George Foreman and Bread maker. Seperate laundry with top loader washing machine and separate tub.

There is a large area of decking in the front of the house where it is lovely to sit with a drink before tea - or perfect to park up and eat tea. The garden area is quite private.

There is a filleting fish bench outside with water tap.
Okiwi Bay is very popular with fishermen. Cod, gurnaud, scallops, crayfish, mussels, oysters, and other wet fish are accessible. There is a wharf across the Bay - walking distance - where barges off load their catch. If you are there at the right time and smile nicely you may be rewarded with a sample. Otherwise there is a good launching ramp for boats.

Okiwi Bay sits in a semi-circle of highish hills facing North. It is resonably sheltered and very sunny. It is popular for kayaking, sailing, skiing,swimming and walking etc. A new 5k walk has been cut out of the bush up hill and is very popular.

d'Urville Island is accessible by boat and it is a lovely drive to French Pass with all the other Bays in between. Ideal for picnics and walks.

There is a very good childrens play area in the Bay, a restaurant and camp shop.

The road to this Okiwi Bay accommodation is sealed and is 20 minutes from Rai Valley on Sate Highway 6 between Nelson and Blenheim which is of course winery country and has good shopping.

It is however advisable to arrive with all your provsions as it is a 3hr turnaround drive to the nearest supermarket
