"Mokino" is one of 7 properties halfway between Mokau & Awakino. A shared track provides access to the beach below, with a small cave and waterfall to the right along the beach. Great fishing from the beach or on the Mokau and Awakino river mouths, and Whitebaiting during open season (August 15 to November 30). Excellent beach and cliff walks in the area (beach islands and caves to explore at Three Sisters). Mokau river at high tide has sheltered swimming/boating, particularly when the sea is rough.

Our bach is fully equiped - you just need to bring food, linen (sheets & pillow cases), towels, personal items. Suitable accomodation for 1 or 2 families, the bach has 12 beds (master king, porch queen, 2x double/single bunks, 2x single). Upstairs has bathroom with shower, master bedroom, sunny porch room with queen double, and spacious kitchen/lounge/dining area dominated by huge picture windows facing North, South & West. Downstairs comprises 2 bedrooms both with double/single bunk and single bed, shower, basic kitchen. Second outside toilet adjacent to the downstairs entrance. North side of the house has a sunny, sheltered flat lawn.
