Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

The property

Awanui Lodge - Whakamoenga Point Holiday home is situated in a peaceful and private bush setting with beautiful views of Lake Taupō. This exclusive Awanui holiday home is modern and spacious, the perfect getaway for families and groups alike with free Wi-Fi. There is a large open plan living dining and kitchen area with high peaked ceilings and picture windows with wonderful views out to the lake. Doors open out onto a huge deck with a large outdoor table to enjoy those balmy summer evenings. Mine Bay is a 100m walk from the house where you can swim to the Maori carvings about 40m from the bay, or just laze on the beach. Kayaks can be hired and there are bush walks to enjoy close by. Should you choose this property for a winter getaway the comfy lounge area also has a open fire (firewood provided) to relax in front of and electric heating, so no chance of getting cold on those winter nights. There is a separate TV room, complete with Sky, video, and a stereo/CD player. There is a modern kitchen fitted with all the mod cons and a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. There are 5 bedrooms separated into 2 wings - perfect for 2 families to enjoy a holiday together. One wing has 2 bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 2 single beds, plus a bathroom with shower, bath and separate toilet. The other wing has 3 bedrooms, 1 king bed, 1 super king, and 2 single beds - plus a semi ensuite with shower, bath and separate toilet! In addition to the fabulous sleeping accommodation, there is a large rumpus room downstairs - great hangout for the older kids. There is a garage and parking for a boat (between 5m and 7m in length) at this Taupō holiday home. *Portable cot available and highchair on request

To preserve the unrivalled nature of the the Conservation and Recreation Park, there are special terms to be observed by all guests at the gated complex. These include no parking except within the rented property and no noise affecting neighbours. No pets allowed. Smoking is not permitted on the common areas of Whakamoenga Point. Drones are not permitted at the Point. A Bachcare booking permits only the persons named in the booking to be at the house or within the gated community at the Point. Please note that the tennis court is shared and must be used with consideration to others. Penalties apply if special conditions are breached.

About the location

Close to Taupo Central, Five Mile Bay is a peaceful settlement on the Eastern shores of Lake Taupo. Spend the day out on the lake, visiting the nearby points of interest around Taupo such as Huka Falls, or fishing in the Waitahanui River. A favourite way to end a relaxing or action-packed day is to head down to the beach and watch the sunset over Mt. Ruapehu. All of our Five Mile Bay holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
