Five mile bay is quite windy. However there is a deck on the road side to sit out of the wind. The upstairs area is great with lots of space to cook and entertain with nice views of the lake and mountains.

The downstairs of the property needs some attention with heating the rooms properly.

Lovely access to the walk way alongside the lake. Great having a fire place and lots of wood. Very old style Bach, downstairs could do with an upgrade.

If you want to be relaxed and worry free and don't need top of the line luxury this is the place. We had access to and used the kayak and dingy, good for the family. Best thing was being able to invite all the family including the dog.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. Weâll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Relax Lakeside is a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom Five Mile Bay bach at Lake Taupo. With only a walkway between you and the waters edge, enjoy the views and peaceful scenery from this typical old style character bach! This 2 storey Five Mile Bay bach includes laid back open plan living with a fireplace to keep you toasty when the weather's cooler. For the ultimate summer stay, fire up the BBQ and take in the lake views... The large section is great for family games in the sun, or head to the waters edge just moments from your door for strolls around the lake! Downstairs at this Five Mile Bay accommodation, bedroom 1 includes two single beds. Bedroom 2 has a single bunk set plus a single bed, and bedroom 3 includes 2 single beds. Upstairs, bedroom 4 also has a queen bed. For a simple holiday set up, there is a bathroom on each floor. Everything you need for a no fuss family getaway at the lake are on hand, or head into town a 10 minute drive away... Make your way to Taupo and Relax Lakeside!

Guests with young children are advised some of the windows on the 2nd level that open are quite low to the ground and therefore may not be suitable for a child's room if the windows are open
As the property has unfenced access to the lake, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water

Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday.
