Elizabeth “Lovely Easter weekend thank you!”
So good to get lots of lake time even if the trout werenât biting! Toasty warm in the mornings with the fire.

Elizabeth “Cute little bach, fab location.”
- Elizabeth, February 2023Joanne “Our family absolutely loved our stay at this classic old-style kiwi bach.”
Wonderful views to Lake Taupo. Loads of comfy sofas - enough for everyone! And a good kitchen set-up as well. Once we figured out the fire and got it going it was nice and cosy upstairs, though very chilly in the bedrooms so if you are coming in winter make sure you bring warm clothes. With no wi-fi it was a perfect get away with our teens, and we spent most days just lounging around playing board games and reading books. Easy drive to hot pools and mini golf in Turangi as well. We hope to stay again - keen to check it out in the warmer months.

- Shirley, July 2022Sara “Fantastic location, very peaceful.”
Property is fully decked out with everything you need. Property is a little tired but a great example of your classic kiwi batch! Awesome place to chill out for a weekend.

We are also really grateful that we were able to bring our two little girls (1 & 3) when our babysitter fell ill. Although there were warnings about the balcony not being a suitable barrier for little ones, we were able to manage that. There is a trap door in the kitchen that were we concerned our little ones might discover but we were able to put an obstacle over it. This is such an amazing location. It's a real oldschool family bach, and obviously much loved by the owners. We felt privileged to be able to stay there. We want to book again. We hope we don't miss out. Thank you so much, Leanne, Richard, Corbin, Kora, and Marlee. P.S. Corbin, who is 10, wants to live there now. We are from Palmerston North and he says he didn't even miss his playhut at home.

On the opposite side of the lake to Taupo, Kuratau is a small peaceful town with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Spend the day out on the water with kayaks, boats and water skis, or go fly fishing for rainbow trout in the Tongariro River. Being further away from the bustle of Taupo, it's also an ideal location for a relaxing holiday to get away from it all. All of our Kuratau holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
