“Pros: Beautiful home and pretty much what we needed.”
Great location. Plenty of space and bedrooms & bed sizes were good, as we were a big family group. The bed linen and pillows provided was all good quality. Appreciated the house was warm on arrival. Plenty of heating. Soap, toilet and all cleaning things provided. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. The different spaces for the different family dynamics. Plenty of parking space for 4 large cars. Cons: not much. There were dirty dishes in cupboards when we arrived. 2 seater couch leg broken.

We were only able to have a BBQ once as the two gas bottles were empty and the air con batteries were flat. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Toby “We had a really fabulous 10 night stay late December 2022 to early January 2023.”
We were a diverse group of eight people consisting myself, my wife two younger children, two elder children and my parents and the flexible accommodation served us all extremely well. Clean house, comfortable mattresses, well stocked kitchen, decent TVs, plenty of space and a fantastic table tennis table in the garage. We would highly recommend this house and grateful to have stayed there.

Only water was leaking from under the sink level 1 and Leaked all the way to bedroom. Garage door no locks. Would recommend child safety gates where the stairs are. Choice wharewaka.

Lots of room for adults and kids to enjoy their own space. Excellent boat parking and is very warm and cosy for a winter stay,

To top this off we had no hot water for the entire stay - the gas system was shot so we couldn't have hot showers and had to boil the jug for doing dishes that couldn't go in the dishwasher. The owner of this property really should consider spending some money on the property before increasing prices for no real benefit to the people that choose to stay there. I have used this property for several years now but will consider alternative options now if prices continue to rise in comparison to other equally if not better properties that I use for the purpose of our weekend.

We're sorry that you felt like this wasn't the case during your stay. In the past 4 years, the property owners have upgraded the kitchen, installed new garage doors, new outdoor furniture, new heatpump and new insect screens, along with countless upgrades around the house. You may not be aware that the railing had broken in January and it had been removed until we had a chance to repair it, which is the reason for the note on the special conditions. We appreciate that you decided to stay when we were unable to fix the sudden hot water issue immediately for you, despite attempts, given the lack of availability in the area over this busy weekend. We were glad we were able to come to a suitable solution for compensation for you due to such a vital amenity not being available unexpectedly which we feel is important to note. Bachcare

The property
Choice Wharewaka is a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom Wharewaka holiday home at Lake Taupo. Including unlimited Fibre Wi-Fi and sunny living, this well positioned house is an ideal lake base located just a few minutes walk from the waters edge! This 3 storey Wharewaka holiday home has 2 units each with separate entrances, Newly renovated kitchen, and bathrooms, making this an ideal option for a wide selection of groups - enjoy the spacious living areas while maintaining peace and privacy! Levels 2 and 3 open onto a fully renovated deck where you can fire up the BBQ and look out to the lake, while level 1 flows out to fully fenced section for family games in the garden. Due to multiple levels young children should be supervised, see special conditions below. Located on the second level, ensuite bedroom 1 is fitted with a super king bed and a baby cot, while bedroom 2 has a queen bed. On level 3, bedrooms 3 and 4 each have a king single bed. Enjoying a separate entrance on level 1, bedroom 4 has a queen bed and the level 1 lounge has two sets of king single bunk beds sleeping an extra 4 guests. With a recently installed heat pump on level 1 your group will be nice and cosy in winter. A table tennis table has also been added to the garage for the whole family to be entertained with family table tennis tournaments! To complete your family holiday set up, there is a bathroom on level 1 and level 2. This well presented, comfortable house has everything you require for a home away from at the lake. There is ample room to relax, a fully fenced backyard, set out on adventure with the lake edge just a 3-5 minute walk from your door and Taupo only a 7 minute drive away.
