“Great place to stay, the bedding is comfortable and has great linen.”
The upstairs area is suited for young teenagers rather than adults, but overall was a pleasant stay. The view is spectacular! Location is great, with the walkway being right there, a easy walk to the Yacht Club for lunch. Unfortunately only one shower, an addition of another shower to the ensuite would be beneficial. We loved our time there, thank you :)

Johnny Stuart “I found a few cockroaches in the house.”
One of the drawers in the kitchen was broken, and the first room's roller door right next to the entrance was terrible. That roller door needs immediately fix since it barely slides. Also, the first room near the entrance got almost no power plugs which make it so difficult to stay in the room and its heater is very weak which was bad for our stay over the winter. We felt very cold.

The view of the lake when you open your curtains is beautiful. Ample of space and had a really good time out there. Everything was satisfied except the heating in the rooms. May need to upgrade the heating facilities in the rooms for the winter. Love our stay

Only thing we struggled with as a group was the fact that although there are 2 bathrooms theres only 1 shower, other then that great stay. Thank you ;) Will definitely be coming back.

We did use the oil heater in the outside rooms, which we were grateful for and the heat pump was awesome. Nice fire too. Might be good to let people know to bring extra blankets for winter. Was a really lovely location - thank you

Drier not working. One of the sliding doors on the outside rooms cannot be locked. Shower box enclosure to low. Need another shower to cater for a 13 person bach. Bachcare were not very helpful in returning communication.

We were a bit disappointed in some things. There was a broken handle on the door to the lounge and every time we would close or open the door, the handle would come off. The bottom draw was broken as well and I can see that someone tried to fix it but did not do a great job. The first sliding door when you enter the "house" is also not working properly and needs some fixing. We loved the fire place and the heat pump definitely a bonus! Other than the few broken things, we had a lovely stay. Maybe a upgrade in the bathroom could be considered too. Over all lovely, thank you for making this available for us to use!

The expansive windows and the views were stunning, especially form the second floor. Great location right above the lake and secluded with a very short drive into town.

Full view of lake and overlooking reserve for easy use of the area. Safe for kids to access beach and park. Plenty of room for a large family or group. Lots of sleeping options. Plenty of kitchenware and seating . Good bbq. An older property thatâs certainly quirky but location and ease is a winner. Tons of room and for the 6 kids ranging in ages from 11-18 itâs perfect as they can roam around without supervision . Great adult time! Highly recommend.

The property
Moeroa is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom Wharewaka holiday home on an elevated site overlooking Lake Taupo. This Wharewaka holiday home is large enough for two families. There are 4 bedrooms that can house up to 13 guests. Downstairs is the master bedroom with a queen size bed. Also downstairs are a further 2 bedrooms that are attached to the garage, these bedrooms are accessed externally. Upstairs is a bedroom that has 5 squab mattresses on the floor with a separate free standing bed. This traditional Wharewaka holiday home features open plan living and kitchen areas, with a comfortable interior. Sky TV with Sports and Movies also available. With panoramic views of Lake Taupo the living area is a great spot to sit and relax as you take it all in! Whether you are looking for some adrenalin pumping adventure, such as a bungee jump, jet boat ride, or trip to the mountain, or something a bit more mellow, like a hike or peaceful trout fishing, Moeroa is your base for it all. You're only a 10 -12 minute drive from all the amenities that Taupo centre has to offer! Get away from the big city - come to Moeroa, sleep in (Moeroa is sleep in in Maori), and then be mere metres from the serene Lake Taupo!

Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday. It's out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, but still close to many of the bucket-list activities Taupo has to offer such as going out on the lake, visiting Huka Falls or even making the trek along the Tongariro Crossing.
