ALERT: Spoon and Paddle serve gingerbread French Toast! We repeat! But seriously, this is only a teaser of their incredible brunch menu, which also includes other dishes like polenta rice cakes and espresso coffee. While it doesn’t have a lakefront view, the food more than makes up for that and will keep you coming back for more! It’s no surprise this is one of the best restaurants in Taupo.

3. The Bistro ($$$)
A wonderful option for a special occasion, The Bistro serves their food and wine with Kiwi flare. Run by a small family, the team here champion clean flavours, an honest taste and fresh produce all served in a relaxed setting. They are experts in both matching food and wine as well as providing excellent customer service. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

A part of the Millennium Hotel and Resort Manuels Taupo, Edgewater Restaurant serves award-winning cuisines made from the freshest ingredients. They have a large variety of menu items but fan favourites include the lamb and salmon. There is also a beautiful bar located next door as the perfect pre/post-meal drink.

Start your day off right with a beautifully made barista cuppa and scone and end your day with the best ribs you’ll ever have in New Zealand. They’ve also got a fantastic kid’s menu so is a perfect choice for the whole family. Their dessert cabinet is also mouth-watering so we suggest also going in on a Sunday arvo to grab a cuppa and cake.

For your fix of classic fish and chips, The Fish Box is your go-to spot. Everything they make is cooked fresh so there is minimal grease and you can expect generous servings.
