This latest addition to the Rotorua mountain biking trail network is being constructed in time for the 2018 Crankworx Tournament, and will be open to the public during and after the event as an ongoing recreational track. This exciting new track leads through the Tokorangi Forest. Read the latest news on this development here.

Biking the Redwoods Forest

The Redwoods Forest is a distinct and beautiful area with 130 kilometres of quality mountain biking trails. The difficulties range from child and first-timer friendly to some challenging steep runs suited for more experienced riders, including the Taniwha Trail which will be used for the new Redwoods Downhill event debuting in this year’s Crankworx. Trig tracks to the summit and bush-covered trails scatter throughout the Whakarewarewa Forest, offering amazing scenery and an exciting challenge at any point. For a full run-down of all the different tracks and difficulties, visit the Redwoods Forest Site here. Also make sure to check out the Redwoods Treewalk and the dog-friendly walking trails for something a bit different.
