2. La Toscana Pizzeria ($$)
Let’s be honest, sometimes all you want after a big day of adventure is carbs. And no one does carbs quite like an Italian restaurant. That’s why we highly recommend La Toscana Pizzeria. W reckon they do the best pizza in Southland by a long shot and the value for money is fantastic considering how large the portions are. Whether you go for the pizza or pasta, you MUST finish out the dining experience with their homemade tiramisu.

3. Redcliff Café ($$$)
Friendly service, great food and a large range of local wines and beers – what more could you want from a Southland restaurant?! The Redcliff Café is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. Their hero dishes include duck wings, arancini balls and venison skewers and the kid’s menu cater for even the pickiest of eaters. Don’t feel like you need to rush out of the restaurant either, their cosy lounge area with a wood-burning stove is the perfect place for a nightcap.

It’s also a family-friendly restaurant, with a great lawn space for kids to play on while they wait for their meal.
