If you’re after a big meal, then The Fat Duck is the place for you. Serving huge portions of pasta, meat, burgers, and their homemade pulled pork pie, your tummies will be treated to one of the best experiences you can have in Southland. 2. La Toscana Pizzeria ($$)
Let’s be honest, sometimes all you want after a big day of adventure is carbs. And no one does carbs quite like an Italian restaurant. That’s why we highly recommend La Toscana Pizzeria. W reckon they do the best pizza in Southland by a long shot and the value for money is fantastic considering how large the portions are. Whether you go for the pizza or pasta, you MUST finish out the dining experience with their homemade tiramisu.

3. Redcliff Café ($$$)
Friendly service, great food and a large range of local wines and beers – what more could you want from a Southland restaurant?! The Redcliff Café is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. Their hero dishes include duck wings, arancini balls and venison skewers and the kid’s menu cater for even the pickiest of eaters. Don’t feel like you need to rush out of the restaurant either, their cosy lounge area with a wood-burning stove is the perfect place for a nightcap.

4. The Moose Bar & Restaurant ($$)
This British pub is a great place for a casual dining experience that offers stunning views of Lake Te Anau. The ribs and fettuccini are some of their staple dishes and the craft beers are out of this world. It’s also a family-friendly restaurant, with a great lawn space for kids to play on while they wait for their meal.

If you’re searching for classic kiwi cuisine, then this is the restaurant for you! To top it off with pudding, the pavlova is by far the best you’ll find anywhere in Southland. It’s a simple, no-fuss meal option to please the whole family after a big day out in the national parks.
