Once a gold-mining hub, Karangahake Gorge is where history and nature converge. Situated at the base of the Coromandel Peninsula, this striking landscape is laced with rivers, old railways, and rusted relics from a bygone era. Today, much of the gorge is accessible through a variety of walks, and the Karangahake Windows Walk is perhaps the perfect place to start.
