    “The nicest holiday house we have ever stayed in.”

    Comfy beds, good shower, lovely art and nice decor, well equipped kitchen, lovely indoor-outdoor flow onto the covered verandah, lots of good places to sit and a quiet location that still manages to be close to the little collection of shops/cafes.

Linen

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Light, bright, and just five minutes walk from the beach; Sandy Feet Retreat is everything you need for your next getaway to magical Marahau. Large windows and sliding doors line the front of this beautiful holiday home, drenching it in sunlight and welcoming a cool shore breeze on those hot summer days. Sandy Feet Retreat is the perfect haven for a mid-year getaway as well. Light the fire, choose a movie on Netflix or from the extensive DVD collection, and just relax. Fully equipped with all the comforts of home, including WIFI and laundry facilities, you can focus on enjoying yourself here at Sandy Feet Retreat. Grab a kayak or paddleboard from out the back and hit the water, or stay home and soak up the sun on the deck as you watch the kids jump on the trampoline. Come dinner time, it’s easy to whip up a great Kiwi meal thanks to the well-equipped kitchen and the BBQ on the back patio. The large outdoor table is all ready for you to dine alfresco, and after dinner, just pop the dishes in the dishwasher, pour your favourite drink, and retreat to the outdoor fireplace to see out another great day on holiday. Sandy Feet Retreat comfortably sleeps up to eight guests across its three bedrooms. Two rooms feature luxurious king-size beds, while the third boasts two sets of bunks; making it an ideal space for the younger family members to call their own. Here at Sandy Feet Retreat, you’re only a 5-minute walk from the beach, and 10 minutes from water taxi operators who can take you on a quick trip to some of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Access to the Abel Tasman Coastal Track is just 1.6km away, as is The Park Cafe, serving up delicious wood-fired pizzas, and that all-important barista coffee. For an adventure further afield, Kaiteriteri with its eateries and famous Split Apple Rock attraction is just a short trip by road, water taxi, or kayak! There is a trampoline in the garden but as there are no safety walls, all guests should take care if using this and only allow one person on the trampoline at a time.

As the property has unfenced access to the beach, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

There are life-jackets available to use with the kayak and paddle boards, but we do recommend that guests bring their own well-fitting life-jackets to ensure safety.

About the location

Known as the gateway to the famous Abel Tasman National Park, Marahau is a popular base for visitors planning to immerse themselves in some of New Zealand's most stunning sights. The beach is also perfect for days spent kayaking, swimming or boating, and keen snorkelers can go on a day trip out to the Tonga Island Marine Reserve. All of our Marahau holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
