Thank you
Thank you

Jason “We did enjoy our stay in this rustic kiwi bach, but it did not suit our needs.”
We came to Pohara for the fishing with our boat after seeing the filleting table we thought it would be perfect! We would not have stayed if the listing had mentioned the water restrictions begin on a tank? Needing to wash the boat down after fishing and the clothes etc to get the fishy smell out was impossible. Also the shower had very very low pressure, impossible to get sand out of the kids hair! The bed in the garage should not be classed as a bedroom. We did enjoy using the paddle board & kayak and it was nice not to have wifi for the week.
- Jason, February 2023Thank you for providing a review for your stay here, Lana. We appreciate your feedback regarding the water supply and how it has affected your stay. There is a special condition displayed on the property listing to indicate that the property is on tank water, however we will investigate how this can be made clearer for future guests. Bachcare
Libby “This is a classic retro kiwi A frame bach in a fantastic location, directly across the road from the Pohara beach access way (& huge Pohara beach), and a 2 minute walk to a coffee cart, cafe with a big garden bar and the Pohara store and takeaways.”
Comfy beds, clean and has everything you need. The A frame has a garage extension on the back with fun darts and bar area and the mezzanine 3rd bedroom accessed via a ladder. The living is all on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs in the top of the A . A cool little place to stay if you take it as it is - the kiwi bach. Great outdoor dining areas. Fenced section and lawn for the kids great too (although not toddlers or elderly due to stairs and ladder, our youngest is 5 and it was fine). Suggestions for the owners: if possible, please add another hand rail on the ladder to the mezzanine, add a washing line outside and a dishwasher would be amazing.
- Libby, January 2023Donald “A great place.”
Everything we were after. The upstairs bedrooms might benefit from air con during summer... but the fans certainly helped. A wonderful holiday
- Donald, January 2023Kerri “The listing states that two bedrooms are on the ground floor where the bathroom is.”
The two bedrooms were upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs. The third bedroom was in a musty garage with a ceiling that would hit your head every time you went into it. It was described as a mezzanine, but there is no mention of the third bedroom being in a garage. My mother is elderly. I booked this house for its layout so she could have a bedroom near the bathroom. In the end, we had to move one of the mattresses into the living room so that she would have somewhere to sleep. It was inappropriate for her to have to be upstairs with the bathroom downstairs with a risk of falls overnight. I would never have booked the place if the listing had been described accurately. The property was very expensive. At this stage, I will not use Bach care again or recommend it to friends as I feel I cannot trust the descriptions. I believe I am entitled to a partial refund given the poor description of the property on the website. The description clearly states that there are two bedrooms downstairs. It also does not mention that the third bedroom is in a garage. I do not consider a bedroom in a garage at third bedroom. I think it should be clearly mentioned.

- Courtney, July 2022Helena “This Breakaway retreat in Pohara is a family blessing.”
What a great home with so much to do together. As we have adult kids as well as teenagers, this home was perfect for our family reunion with our little dog children too. So close to the beach, we were there for daily walks at least 3 times a day! so close to Takaka for any essentials. Ample fridge space for the larger families. Great outdoor entertainment BBQ area too. Great fire for family evenings together, the ambience created was just super fun and authentic. Thanks for a great stay. Please consider putting in a dishwasher though, really helps to make it a holiday and not another chore.
