“We had a cosy and comfortable stay.”
The house is lovely and warm with the sun streaming in on a sunny day and an excellent log fire for cold days. There was plenty of space for our extended family and a bonus of lots of interesting books! The views and the birdsong were amazing and the location is peaceful.

“A well set up house, comfortable and clean.”
We appreciated the children's toys and books.- Aileen, February 2023
We arrived to find the house dirty. Kitchen gipping with a broken fridge. Bathroom was unclean with a used wet flannel in the corner of the shower, used soap bar and half full bin. We spent a lot and were looking forward to our stay in Akaroa - but the state of the house was hugely disappointing. The property manager Nic is lovely (she did not oversee the clean as I understand it) but the property itself should not be listed in its current state. We were mislead on this one - don't you be too... find somewhere else to stay. Avoid.- Maria, December 2022

“What a terrific house - was so spacious and comfortable and great with the deck - when the sun came out.”
And a fire - so good in Winter - really warmed everything. When I arrived on Thursday - the heat pumps were going so was lovely to come in to the warmth and fire all set to go. Barista machine available (I didn't read well enough and brought my own). The views were awesome. The birdsong lovely. The internet was not going till the Sunday but still - good to get offline. Wifi worked just "No connection". I didn't mind not working Friday. Cheers and thanks so much!- Karyn, August 2022
“So cosy and warm, comfy beds, lots of room, great views.”
Really appreciate bring able to bring dogs with us. Internet didn't work but there was plenty else to do!- Rebecca, July 2022
“Excellent house for family holiday.”
Great views and deck. Loved being able to take the dog too. Wifi didn't work all weekend which was very disappointing- Wendy, March 2022
“Lovely big house with heaps of room for parking and extra vehicles.”
Good size house for large family. Stairs are steep. Balcony not so safe for crawling babies- elizabeth, January 2022
Excellent AC. Great to be able to bring the dogs. Kitchen had everything we needed. If water pressure could be improved and fans were available for bedrooms, we’d visit again!- Audrey, December 2021
“This property was everything and more we could have expected for 8 blokes on a golfing weekend.”
It is spacious and airy, the configuration worked fantastically (as no one needed to share a bed!) and two individual bathrooms was just perfect. The beautiful view (and balmy weather) meant we didn't really want to go too far in the evenings. Spotless and in a great location for walking everywhere - we will be back if you’ll have us!- Timothy, December 2021
“Hilltop Haven was everything we needed and more.”
We had ample space for the adults and the bunk bedroom was the perfect hangout for our kids. Stay was made so much better being able to take our dogs with us. Views were absolutely dreamt. Could not recommend this property high enough and would definitely stay again.- Jaegan, July 2021
“Awesome spot for our adult families and their children, plenty of room and great views of Akaroa”- Andy, July 2021

Whip up a salad in the fully equipped kitchen and take it outside to the covered alfresco dining space, ready to enjoy with your fresh Akaroa Salmon straight from the BBQ. At the end of the meal, pop the dishes in the dishwasher and enjoy a glass of wine looking out over the water. On a winter getaway, light the fire and enjoy a fresh cup of espresso coffee as you get stuck into a good book, watch a movie with the family, or post your latest holiday snaps using the free WIFI.
