If you can bring yourself to step foot outside this charming home, Taronui Bay Reserve can be accessed through the farm by vehicle and then on foot along a bush walking track. This beach is one not to be missed, with gorgeous shade from Pohutakawa trees and perfect swimming for children as it is quite protected. There are also plenty of opportunities here for snorkelling, stand-up paddle-boarding, kayaking and fishing in and around the bay.
Not far away there is also Waitangi Bike Park, with both trail riding and coastal cycle trail options to suit your pace. If you fancy a short 40-minute tramp, the historical Marsden Cross Track is another great nearby option, situated just a short 20-minute drive from Taronui Bay Farm Bach. And of course, if you bring a boat with you, you also have the whole Bay of Islands to explore, with Waipapa Landing Public Boat ramp available within a short 12-minute drive.
