“We love staying at the cottage so much we booked second stay straight after.”
It’s very nicely appointed with great period features and the view (from most rooms of the house) is just gobsmacking. The only thing we would change is the internet service… it was challenging managing work and play for a family of four in 2023 with 1990s bandwidth! That’s an easy fix though. The cottage is excellent.

“We were a group of four friends who travelled to Napier for an extra-long weekend.”
We loved staying at Clyde View - the view was amazing and the amenities were excellent....tea & coffee, a coffee pod machine, a well stocked kitchen (utensils, etc) which was fantastic as we lunched out-and-about then did our own cooking each night, wood available for the fireplace, extra blankets for the chilly nights, lots of space for the four of us....it was fantastic! It was an easy walk down the hill into town or to the Magnet cafe on the beach-front. So central and like I say, brilliant views. We were all so impressed. See you next time :-)- Melinda, September 2023
“Absolutely gorgeous house, lovely atmosphere and amazing views.”
We loved our stay. However, the driveway is scary, would recommend taking a small car- Bru, August 2023
“Loved our stay here.”
Beautiful views, big spacious house close to town. Driveway is a bit hairy but we will be back. Thanks.- Angela, November 2022
“Lovely comfortable property with a fantastic outlook and close to town and easily catered for 8 people.”
Driveway a little tricky if you're uncomfortable with tight entrance or have a large car but it's not much of a downer.- Phil, November 2022

The weather was crap but it just made it so much nicer in front of the fire or soaking in the bath looking at the awesome view over Napier and the sea with a glass of fantastic Hawkes Bay cabernet sauvignon. Really recommend, especially in winter. or anytime.- brent, June 2021

About the location
After the 1931 earthquake, Napier was beautifully rebuilt with the art deco trends of the time making it a truly unique stop for your holiday. Celebrate this unique heritage at their Art Deco weekend every February; stretch your legs by heading out to the gannet colony at stunning Cape Kidnappers; sample one of the world class Hawkes Bay wineries or explore the national aquarium. A 1 hour flight or 5 hours drive from Wellington or Auckland, there are classic Kiwi baches right through to waterfront properties awaiting your next holiday.
Adults should closely supervise young children to ensure that they do not climb the horizontal wooden slats in the driveway barrier.
Please note that the driveway is narrow but there is plenty of space to park and turn around at the bottom near the house.
Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.
