“Good situation with easy beach access.”

3 double beds but rooms a bit small. Large sunny deck and family room but poor TV viewing angle and no wifi. Oven and under beds needed proper clean.

“There were a number of issues with this property such as inaccuracies in the web listing e.”

G: 1) "the local Four Square is right next door. ' . In reality the store is two streets away (15-20 mins walk) 2)'the lush lawn for a game of backyard cricket '. In reality the lawns were overgrown and full of weeds etc so a game of cricket would have been a challenge. General outside gardens untidy. 3) the Amenities list on the BachCare website included "BBQ". in reality the BBQ was very dirty and rusted - and no gas bottle nor utensils were provided. 4) on arrival on NY Eve afternoon there was a smoke alarm beeping constantly. We called B/C who were then advised by the property manager that we should just to take the offending battery out as 'there were still other smoke alarms in the house' . Next day all the other smoke alarms also commenced beeping which were duly dis-armed by us leaving no smoke alarms in the house at all. Eventually a couple of days later a person dropped off new batteries but we were expected to install same with no safe ladders etc provided to do so. 5) leaking kitchen sink. 6) no instructions as to what to do with household rubbish (on enquiring via B/C we were told to fill the supplied black plastic bags and leave same outside back door to be collected sometime") 7) no WIFI - although advertised as such so we knew this going in but really still a nuisance in today's world . Good points included the comfortable beds, dishwasher, good fridge /freezer, and one block away from the beach- (NB No beach/ sea view. ) In summary our opinion is that the house is obviously under renovation and not worth the premium per night rate we were charged. We were prepared to pay said rate for the NY weekend but expected that far more effort would have been expended prior to our arrival to warrant this rate. The old Kiwi adage of "near enough is good enough" was the MO for the property management 'team' it seems.

“Kitchen was very good.”

Beds very good. Uncomfortable dining chairs. Not very clean. Very damp. Every morning we had crying windows. People sleeping in the middle room could not sleep coz of the noise caused by flashing the toilet or opening the tap. 2 bulbs were not working. We changed it. Vacuum was left dirty and blocked for us to use. We came back a day earlier coz we were not comfortable. We have stayed in Waitarere 2 other times at the same price per day they were far more better. Not happy for the money we paid.

A beautiful little place to stay, the only gripe was if you are a light sleeper the water pump is right near to two of the bedrooms, if the toilet flushes at night the pump goes and is really loud

No bedside or overhead lighting. Lighting through out the House was very poor. Lounge rug very unhygienic and not suitable for a holiday rental . Good location

“Spacious, light and comfortable 3 bedroom home close to the beach with good outdoor space.”

One bedroom has no door and the rooms had no door handles and there was no shade when I was there. No washing line but airers provided.
