Frances “Lovely stay here, had literally everything you could ever need!”
Highly recommend. Very cosy when the weather isn’t playing the game too.

Anthony “We had a great stay.”
The Bach had everything we needed for a weekend in a nice quiet location. Our dogs loved running around the large secure garden.
- Anthony, January 2024Sarah “We found Bonnie Doone a really comfortable, well equipped and clean bach.”
We really appreciated being able to take our dog with us. The big garden is fully fenced and the dog loved having the space to run around. It’s an easy walk into town and really close to the river walk. We loved the little coffee place on the reserve and would recommend Creels Cafe for food. Note for dog owners: Although fully fenced, the front fence is quite low and would be jumpable by most dogs.
- Sarah, July 2023David “Really fantastic home, thank you for allowing me and my friends to stay.”
We would love to come back another time.
- David, July 2023Jade “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bonnie Doone.”
This lovely bach has been so tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, you really want for nothing. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend. :)
- Jade, February 2023Keely “We had a fabulous time in a lovely dog proof section with all comforts and amenities.”
Walking distance to town and the pool, quiet friendly neighborhood, coffee cart just across the reserve by the main road and lovely welcome of a bottle of wine and chocolate! Great outdoor lighting and seating made for cosy evenings and having a supply of toilet paper, basic supplies like salt, tea oil etc along with shampoo and body made for an easy stay without extra expense of buying or having to cart all those basics with us. Really great spot and felt welcome, great home and we are very grateful to have been allowed to take our dogs. Many thanks, we will be back! keely
- Keely, February 2023Fiona “This property is just lovely!”
The house has everything you need. We came in as a business team, so the space for us was perfect. The kitchen, dining and living space was big enough for us. I would say if you are a family with kiddies, it would be a good to note that it is an open plan space. As long as the weather is good you would be quite happy to open the sliding door and sit on the deck while you kiddies play outside on that lawn- it has a lovely flat lawn and carport area to take advantage of, while the adults are inside making lunch or snoozing on the couch. The rooms are great! 2 of the rooms have large wardrobes and the 3rd has a small one. You would be happy to have you family rest at Donnie Boone. The beds are comfortable I would say a medium soft mattress and nice warm bedding. The separate toilet is useful! Also the bathroom is small but functional. We had no issue with it. The laundry is fantastic, as mum I know families would appreciate knowing that the washer is fantastic. Bonus there is a heated towel rail in this room. It is very clean and tidy! With access to games and reading and even drawing if the kids are playing inside. The house is fenced in and sits in a very peaceful neighbourhood. The local school is at the end of the road. I will say the house is creaky, it obviously expands and compresses with the heat and cold,- so just so you are aware you will hear random knocks and noises- that's just the house, no need to worry. There is a BBQ but we didn't have a key to access it but or next stay in Turangi will definately be with Donnie Boone 100% I woukd rate it 4.5 stars just because we didn't have access to the bbq but seriously it is worth the stay even without the bbq!
- Fiona, December 2022Andrew “We really enjoyed our stay here.”
Very clean and comfortable
- Andrew, August 2022Susan “The house was fabulously clean when we arrived and finding a bottle of wine and chocolate waiting for us was a lovely surprise.”
The kitchen had everything you could need in the kitchen and lots of warm bedding in the bedrooms - it's clearly a much loved family property. There were just a couple of things we couldn't get to work i.e. the wifi (maybe we needed more detailed instructions?) and the heater in the hallway. The instructions also said to put the recycling in the shed but we couldn't access it with the keys supplied. Those things aside, it was a fabulous place to stay, thanks so much!
