- Daryn, August 2023Suzanne “This property was listed as fully fenced and OK for small,dogs, the gap under the gates was large enough for my small yorky and my sisters slightly larger dog to get out easily ,I couldnot really see what the fence was like on the down hill side looked like wire strands.”
consequently the dogs had to stay on leads outside during their stay. The gate to the wood under the house was stuck at the top and hard to open.But the views were lovely

Such a lovely kiwi bach with stunning sea views. An absolute bonus that the property is fenced so felt safe for our dogs. Awesome being so close to town. Thank you

A bigger fridge might be a nice addition if staying longer than a few days and want to cook in rather than go out. Has everything you need and your furry friends can come along. Not fully fenced as the ad says as there is a small gap at the rear part of the house so needed to make sure dogs didn't go through. Great spot to watch the ocean and enjoy movie night with the family. Would definitely rent again.

Colin “The house was clean, comfortable, had good views and was affordably priced.”
However, there were a few relatively minor and easily fixable issues that somewhat dampened the experience. Firstly, the lockbox code given to us was incorrect and we had to call Bachcare and wait some time to get let in/get the right code. Secondly, the taps in the toilet room were loose and don't work properly. Finally, the kitchen could have easily added a few things, including dish cloths, a few extra dessert spoons, and a sieve and/or colander.

So here goes. Sorry mate but honestly.. the bed.. two rock solid single beds pushed together with an undersized mattress topper? Worst sleep ive had in years. Literally didnt sleep for 3 days. Felt absolutely shattered after our stay. Definitely not rested. Then wakeup and have a shower, in a bathtub, barely dribbling water. Absolutely would not come back and it left such an impression that we would probably never come to kaikoura again. Positives - amazing view, spacious lounge and kitchen, fully fenced and pet friendly Thanks

Tracy “We would highly recommend this property for its close walking proximity to town, great access to off leash walks for dog owners, secure section (once fencing repairs are completed), and beautiful views of the coast.”
Bed was very comfortable, and great facilities including the all important coffee plunger! Thanks so much for a lovely relaxing stay for us and our two dogs!

Absolutely outstanding views enjoyed from dining, lounge and bedroom AMAZING! Home owner must be one of the friendliest people I've rented from, felt like we were hiring from family. A great place to go and relax and recharge! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire also, what a treat!! We will definitely be staying here again :-)

About the location
Kaikoura is watched over by the majestic mountain ranges that stretch down towards the rugged east coast of the South Island. Kaikoura is most well known for its whale watching opportunities, which attract visitors from across the world. Tours depart Kaikoura to allow visitors the chance to catch glimpses of giant sperm whales, dolphins, fur seals, and the rare royal albatrosses. For those who are more adventurous, there are chances to don a wetsuit and swim with many of the wonderful creatures found on the Kaikoura Coastline. The annual Seafest, held the first weekend in October, is becoming increasingly popular, and attracts more visitors every year. For history buffs, Kaikoura offers the chance to learn about the early whaling and sealing days of the district, as well as Maori History, and a number of historic buildings. There are also a number of walks to explore, one which takes visitors past some spectacular limestone caves, and seal colonies.
