    “The house itself was as expected and comfortable however on the first morning we discovered the oven was not working at all and the stovetop was not heating up properly.”

    We understand these things happen but we reported this straight away to bachcare who told us someone would be in touch. We heard nothing more from anyone for the entire long weekend and had to buy new groceries as we were unable to cook the food we brought with us and had to go out for dinner which was not planned. On our return home we again contacted bachcare who said they would look in to it and someone would contact us. Two and a half weeks later we still haven’t been contacted however we ...

    We understand these things happen but we reported this straight away to bachcare who told us someone would be in touch. We heard nothing more from anyone for the entire long weekend and had to buy new groceries as we were unable to cook the food we brought with us and had to go out for dinner which was not planned. On our return home we again contacted bachcare who said they would look in to it and someone would contact us. Two and a half weeks later we still haven’t been contacted however we notice a $100 refund appeared in our account. This barely dents the cost of a meal out for 5 adults plus extra groceries and food wasted which wouldn’t make the trip back to Auckland. The most disappointing thing is no one contacted us at any point to discuss this.

We understand how frustrating this must have been. While a refund was issued as a gesture of goodwill, we’ve since provided additional compensation to better reflect the impact. Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
