“Beautiful location, however house is very run down.”
Wiring is dodgy in living room, lights kept blowing and if you banged on wall would turn on/off. We had a light shade in bedroom melt on lightbulb. There is currently an ant problem in kitchen and in living room (all down the sliding door). We have been renting in Kuratau for 20+ years and was the worst house we have rented. As much as we enjoyed the location we will not be back to stay again.

Mel “Had read reviews about uncomfortable beds and that they had been replaced, however only 1 queen was able to be slept on, could feel springs stabbing through other beds or mattresses that didn't even fit on base, Non slip matt in bath/shower was not non slip and caused an accident, would be better Off removed, only 2 dining chairs at table could be sat on others were missing or broken, section is absolutely not fully fenced along the lake side, The local bachcare contractor was absolutely amazing and helpful, but actual bachcare staff available via phone or email eventually incredibly insensitive and unhelpful.”

What a beautiful spot. Bachcare and the owner were very accommodating when we had lost of car key and couldn't leave on time. We appreciate their patience. Would highly recommend this as a holiday spot.

Nice to be able to walk along the lake. Great view of the lake from one of the bedrooms and the lounge and dining area. The room upstairs had a great view too but we didn’t use it as we wanted to be all in the one level. Thanks for letting us stay in this lovely house. We love to go back anytime soon. Thanks

Boat ramp 30seconds away, and plenty of off street parking for cars and Jetskis. Good Lockwood home, nice fireplace great set up for 2-3 families to stay. Would love to return sometime!

Its a traditional bach, and right on the lake. Kitchen has everything you need, the sleeping arrangement suits for multiple generations or families. Living room floor beds could do with upgrading, very squeaky and old. Good drive on access for vehicles and boats.

Moran “Stunning location right on the beach front with privacy behind a tall hedge that doesn't hide the view.”
I doubt you could find a better location in the Kuratau/Omori area. It will cop the Northerly a little but is very sheltered in a NW or Westerly & Southerly. Walking straight down to the water is such a benefit and being able to watch kids swimming would be a real advantage for parents. The photos are a good indicator of the house but for those that have never stayed in a Lockwood, be advised that these old gems creak and bang as they cool down at night and warm up in the morning, especially so when you start to move around first thing in the morning. Loud enough to wake people so take a set of earplugs! This is very typical of all the lockwoods we've stayed in and consider it part of the Bach charm these provide. Beds are small. old and uncomfortable (for us at least) but no worse than many other baches we'ver rented. Plenty of off-street parking, huge lawn for activities. All up, we've stayed in nicer, more modern and better equipped houses in the area but this property makes up for any shortcomings with its fantastic location, huge deck, views etc and we''ll certainly try to book this place again ahead of anything else.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Just steps from the lakefront and with views to take your breath away, this four-bedroom Kuratau bach is an ideal spot for two families to come together on a Lake Taupo getaway. Welcome to Lakefront Lodge! The simple and cosy open-plan living space here at Lakefront Lodge seamlessly transitions onto a generous sized entertaining deck, offering you plenty of options to relax and enjoy lakeside living. This is the place for enjoying the sun, watching the kids as they play on the lawn below, or entertaining family and friends with a relaxed BBQ meal. There's an outdoor table and seating for 12 people! Furnished with your comfort in mind, this bach is drenched in sunlight right up to its vaulted ceilings thanks to large sliding glass doors and large picture windows. On a hot summer day, open everything up to let the cool lake breeze flow through, or nestle into a bean bag on the deck and soak up the sunshine. A cosy wood-burning fireplace keeps you toasty warm in the winter, and offers a great centrepiece to gather around for a good chat, or perhaps a family challenge of your favourite board game! A basic Sky TV package is on offer if you feel like a bit of light-hearted, effortless entertainment. As the property has direct access to the lake, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

On the opposite side of the lake to Taupo, Kuratau is a small peaceful town with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Spend the day out on the water with kayaks, boats and water skis, or go fly fishing for rainbow trout in the Tongariro River. Being further away from the bustle of Taupo, it's also an ideal location for a relaxing holiday to get away from it all.
