“We are a family of 4 + a Labrador, and it was the perfect getaway.”
Beautiful views over the lake made the morning coffee extra special as the sun rose, and when it cooled down at nigh-time, the fire made the whole place warm and cozy. The outside space was more than enough to play with our lab and she loved exploring her surroundings. The house was really well set up with heaps of cutlery, storage, cookware etc, and the couch and chairs on the deck made a great area to gather as a family and just enjoy the sun and the view. The house was really well set up with heaps of cutlery, storage, cookware etc, and the couch and chairs on the deck made a great area to gather as a family and just enjoy the sun and the view. It was great to be able to sit in the spa with a glass of wine as the day drew to a close. Just an all round great relaxing stay.

Here are some constructive feedback: 1. The photos shown on the listing makes the property look much bigger than it is. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and if the weather wasn't great, we would have struggled to stay indoors. Luckily the weather was fine and made the full use of the deck which was fine. The deck has a stunning view and well covered so it is all weather outdoor area. 2. Property grounds were unkept with overgrown hedges and plants all along the driveway which scratches the car. 3. We found some plates were not very clean and many areas were a bit dusty. 4. Minor points but table tennis rackets and balls were all broken so not useable.

The location was nice and the pictures matched well, but the kitchen/living area photographs larger than it seems. There were definitely cleaning issues - a couple of dishes left out, the dishwasher was full of pots that hadnât cleaned well and needed to be handwashed, and the provided blankets were NOT clean. Luckily we brought sleeping bags. The hot tub was great!

Full equipped with all the things we need. Nice spa and fireplace special in winter time keep warm enough. Only 1 recommendation. May have chances to make the lights colours aligned. Some lights are yellow some white. That looks not very comfortable.

The view is absolutely stunning, and well worth being a bit outside of Rotorua for. Nicely appointed and comfortable with everything you need. Diane who manages it is also lovely to work with. Thanks for an awesome stay!

Part of me doesn't want to write how lovely this place is because then it'll be harder to get dates in the future!!! But it was the perfect family getaway home for us. Location 15/10, super clean and cosy home, and great facilities. The fire, the spa, having a machine for the kids was all perfect even with all the wet weather Diane was very kind and helpful and bachcare were really easy to deal with. Thank you for a wonderful holiday and I hope we can come back again!

Loved the view and the deep verandah. Comfy beds, great shower, wood burner lovely and lots of firewood and fire starters provided (some papers would be good to provide too.) Slightly temperamental spa but excellent support from property manager about this. Fun games room upstairs for older kids or teens, (although I wouldn't recommend to families with very young children because the railings on the stairs and in the upstairs area would not be adequate.) Hope to return in summertime!

A 20 minute drive from Rotorua will take you to the stunning landscape of Lake Tarawera. Former home to the pink and white terraces before the Tarawera Eruption, Lake Tarawera has an interesting geography explorable by boat and foot. The lake is well known as an excellent fishing spot for trout, as well as being perfect for boating activities and walking tracks.
