As a couple we rent a lot of Bach's each year and this place, considering the price, was probably the biggest disappointment we have had for some years. There are many positive and pleasing things about the property. Clean (apart from regular ant infestations), nice original features, great location and set up. Good kitchen appliances. Well stocked with useful cleaning/ basic pantry items. There were, however, many issues with the property, all the more stark given the high costs: Poor quality bed/ mattress, on casters which rolled along the floor in a potentially dangerous way with minimal pressure. No heat pump or fans for hot days/ nights Glass double doors of master bedroom facing road had no blinds- means at night people can see you moving in room (for many would be an unacceptable privacy issue) and in the morning the room lights up and heats up. Missing basic things like an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, scissors, coat hangers, reusable bags for groceries Ant nests in immediate vicinity of property meant regular incursions and lots of vigilance needed. Rusting pipes in bathroom. No light switch in toilet means this is a privacy issue when sharing with others Washing machine rocked violently and walked a great distance across the lino in the utility room when used even once. Not enough access to sockets in bedroom for chargers etc (I bought and left additional extension lead to remedy) Wrong type of lock for a rental- we were vigilant but people will accidentally lock themselves out guaranteed. Overall enough safety, privacy issues to be a concern for any rental but with the other issues and overall price I would hope and expect some evidence of improvements and or serious price reductions before I could recommend this as a reasonable holiday rental option.
