Ohad “This was the second time we stayed at this property.”
We returned because it has great views and excellent lake access with the boat. However, our stay was extremely frustrating and marred by poor management and service issues. The main problem remains the lake bugs. You cannot get rid of them no matter how hard you try to avoid opening the windows; they still come in, make a mess, and stick to all the glass. We were sent a letter asking for an additional payment for cleaning the windows, which is completely absurd since this bug issue is inherent ...
We were sent a letter asking for an additional payment for cleaning the windows, which is completely absurd since this bug issue is inherent to the property's location. This cleaning charge is shocking, especially considering the pre-arrival cleaning was obviously incomplete. We found jewelry left behind in a drawer, proving they did not clean it thoroughly, otherwise they would have found it. But they were rude enough to still ask for an additional payment for a kitchen drawer they claimed was not "superclean" when we left. Beyond that, basic cleanliness was lacking: we noted spider webs on the outside sofa and lamps, sticky placemats, and very little soap was left for our usage. Service was also very poor. We were very frustrated that we had to put the sheets on the kids' beds ourselves. They knew exactly how many children were coming and should have set up the beds beforehand. Finally, the stay concluded with a stressful incident when an agent was sent a day before check-out who knocked rudely on the door and asked us to leave immediately. It took several minutes to explain that our departure was scheduled for the next day. The property needs significant improvement in management oversight and cleaning standards before we could ever recommend it
Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us again. We appreciate your kind words about the property's views and lake access. We apologise for the issues you encountered. Lake flies are a natural part of the ecosystem and cannot be entirely prevented. We apologise for the jewellery left in the drawer and the cleanliness issues you mentioned. Spiders on outdoor furniture are common in this area, and we will consider spider spraying. Minimal soap supplies are provided to prevent guests from taking them away. Our standard practice for bunk beds is to leave the duvet and top sheet folded neatly to prevent the duvets from getting dirty. We will review this practice. We apologise for the agent arriving a day early and the stress it caused. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our services. Bachcare
