“Lovely location, have been to Matapouri several times.”
Propery was spacious enough for our visit, facilities adequate for our requirements. TV in the main bedroom wasn't easy to use. Sheets in the main bedroom couldn't be used due to the smaell of damp clothing. Luckily we bought our own, after reading some other review posts. The open showers look good but in practice, you have to place shower away from you & have teh pressure on low, otherwise you end up with water in the hole bathroom. No spare towels provided and tea towels have seen better ...

Unfortunately .we left a few items behind, but told it would cost an extra $30+ call out to retrieve, enev though the cleaners would be attending? Thought at the price we paid all of the above would have been covered and lessons learnt from past visitors? We are easy to please and didn't let it bother us as we only had a couple of days.

Would also be nice if there was some windows which could be left open, that were intruder safe. One room didn't have a lamp for night stand. But overall lovely house and lovely stay

Its a beautiful home with loads of space and entertaining options thats really well maintained with absolutely everything you could hope for. The location is great, within walking distance to whale bay and just a few minutes from matapouri beach. Highly recommended.

It is a shame it is let down by the cleanliness of the property. It really feels like a minimal clean was done pre our arrival, surfaces were dirty and spider Webbs and bugs in many corners, outdoor windows were filthy. Then upon reading the information for the stay there seemed to be all these strict rules about cleaning such as keeping hands off the glass tables etc and having run the dishwasher fully and emptied before departure which seems a bit outrageous when you have paid for a clean. One of the bedrooms had bed bugs which resulted in one of our guests sleeping on the couch for the trip. One of the facilities advertised in the listing is the access to the tennis court, which when we tried to find the key where stated it wasn’t there. Even after two calls to the Bachcare after hours number, no one ever returned our call or provided us with an outcome. Really disappointing stay, it really is a great property in an excellent location, just the cleanliness and lack of maintenance lets it down.

Catherine “We were REALLY pleased that the house was useable for our family member in a wheelchair.”
These are hard to find!! Excellent level entry into the house, shower and toilet accessible ( just bring your own shower chair), and great spacious living areas. So we give a 10 out of 10 for that !! BUT for what we paid, we expected a house that can sleep 8 people... 1) to have more than 2 wine glasses 2) to have plates that didn't have chips in 3) to have the official rubbish bags on hand to use on rubbish day 4) to have more than 1 champagne glass 5) to have the glass coffee table and glass top dinning table polished and looking clean 6) to have more than 4 placemats 7) to have more than 2 serving dishes For the top dollar you are asking your product isn't sharp enough.

Great location which we really enjoyed. We paid extra per person to have linen provided but: Not enough towels and pillows provided 1of each per person only. 1 bathroom towel for a whole week and no dryer so couldn't wash towels through to freshen them (weather not conducive to dry them outside). I would expect 2 per guest at least. Towels in main bathroom and teatowels in kitchen had that awful musty "wet dog" smell that towels get when not dried properly. Replace these, they never recover. Only one washing frame for this many guests is not sufficient, please provide another. Wet room style showers are fine but should come with at least 1 bath mat per bathroom. There were none provided. There was a serious shortage of tumblers and wine glasses, 4 short water glasses, 2 tall glasses and 2 wine glasses plus 2 flutes? We stated there were 4 adults and 2 kids staying which meant we were constantly washing the glassware! Please order some more, we don't want to drink cold beverages out of coffee mugs for this much $ per night. No recycling bin provided for the house, made do with the mop buckets in the garage. Would book again if these issues were addressed

Would love to stay again!! Lots of amenities - everything you need. Blinds in one bedroom were broken which was a bit of a nuisance and could have had a deeper clean before we arrived. Otherwise it was fab. Thank you so much!!!!

It Was perfect for our family holiday. Great location, short easy walk to the beach. Home was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Air conditioner available if you feel the heat, fans available in the bedrooms. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a carefree break. We would love to come back next year if it is available.

. it's absolutely beautiful. The house is very central. Although the house is very modern it is very cheaply built and furnished. The showers flood the entire bathroom floors so you will need plenty of towels to clean up after each shower.

Hone was large and clean. But there were some issues. Secondary bedrooms are smallish with no air con, and we're unbearable in the heat. Water ran out, tank ran dry. We found out how to connect a new tank the next day, but it was an inconvenience, and water smelt off. Showers flooded the bathrooms and dishwasher was broken. For what we paid we expected better.

There are fans in the smaller bedrooms as the rooms are too small to install an air conditioning unit however there is air conditioning in the master and living area. Unfortunately, all of Northland is on tank water so it is just one of the quirks of holidaying in the area. The bathroom is a "wet" bathroom which means it has been designed and finished so that all surfaces can be wet, allowing for more usable space and we can confirm that there is no flooding. With many scenic spots nearby for you to visit, from Whale Bay just a 3-minute drive away, Matapouri Bay a 1-minute drive away and Poor Knights Island which can you access at one of the nearby ports.
