This older character cottage has some fine highlights including very comfortable new beds , lots of instant hot water ,an abundance of native birds , a fabulous outside deck area with sea inlet views . Superb privacy and a very relaxed feel . The house has everything you need for a rejuvenating stay. The location being 10 mins drive from Akaroa with plenty of cafes and the amazing ‘ Giants garden ‘ is excellent. Sure the floors creak and the house is in the character category but we left totally relaxed and looking forward another day on the superb deck . It’s a wee gem . Highly recommended.

A beautiful setting which was wonderful for a peaceful break; perfect for dogs & just a few minutes from Akaroa township. Unfortunately the cold shower was very disappointing considering the price.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. We are sorry that you experienced some issues, and we are looking into rectifiying these. We hope to welcome you back soon to exceed your expectations.

Lovely rustic farm cottage in a gorgeous setting. Great deck for the day and fantastic warm fire. Some aspects very basic, such as lighting and bathroom, which we felt made this cottage over priced.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay! We have taken your comments on board, and will look to improve where possible. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Disappointing, deceptive promotion of a property which, in my opinion, is not in a fit structural state to be rented out. It was very dirty and definitely overpriced.
Thank you for your feedback and please rest assured that we are working on this with the owner.

We were the first guests to stay at Manaia cottage. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the stunning view and watching the native birds. The house was well equipped with everything needed for a family of four and Louie the dog. The beds were comfy (the children shared) and there was a heat pump for easy heat. Just a 5 minute drive to Akaroa and to explore the nearby beaches. Four nights wasn't long enough- we will be back!
