Lynne “Fantastic holiday home, comfortable with a lot of space.”
We loved using the kayaks. Thank you we all enjoyed our stay.

Carol “A very comfortable stay.”
Thanks for having us again. The pink star walkers.
- Carol, October 2023T “We had a wonderful extended family holiday here.”
I was delighted at the extreme cleanliness, well above normal. Very homely and comfy, lovely and warm with the fire in winter. Plus extra bedding if needed was great. Only tiny complaints are please have some smaller pieces of wood for starting the fire, and there was no trampoline as advertised. Loved the noticeboard with ideas of what to do in the area! The kayaks were great fun and an added bonus of our stay. We will hopefully return, perfect sized Bach for a family gathering.
- T, May 2023Teresa “Such a wonderful bach that we really enjoyed - plenty of boat parking!”
- Teresa, January 2023Kelly “Great location!”
It was a safe and comfortable place for us to call home while we were on holiday.
- Kelly, January 2022Sarah “Very suitable for a family group of mixed ages.”
- Sarah, January 2022Karen “The property had plenty of room for a family and the grassed area out the front was great.”
Not particularly clean and the highcair in particular had food under the tray. We had cold days and no electric heating. Unable to light the fire as there was no fire guard and we had an infant with us.
- Karen, November 2021Gary “Stayed mid winter and missed not having a heat-pump or switchable heating.”
House is a nice size and priced well and in a nice quiet area. The fire is good, but suggest your taking an axe or lots of prepared firewood.
- Gary, August 2021Thank you for your feedback Gary. We're happy to hear you enjoyed Shiloh's great location! Unfortunately the property does not have a heat pump as mentioned in the listing above, however there are two fan heaters including a great fireplace to help keep our guests warm. We will ensure there are enough smaller pieces of firewood moving forward so future guests can also enjoy the fireplace. Bachcare

Lissa “Awesome kiwi bach - was great to switch off with limited signal and no TV!”
It was a rainy weekend so we played a lot of games. House has everything you need including games, books, kyayks and comfy beds.
- Lissa, June 2021Dana “Wonderful place for a weekend away for our two families.”
Plenty of room for everyone and the log burner warmed the whole house. Beds comfy and warm. The house, while a little dated, had everything we needed. Awesome location, very short walk to beach where kids thoroughly enjoyed to use of the Kayaks and big section for a game of cricket.
- Dana, April 2021Sara “This is a gem of a bach that can accommodate families travelling together.”
Four LARGE bedrooms, plenty of parking space, quiet back section 2 mins walk from a lovely quiet beach safe enough for children to play in the shallow waves. Loads to keep you entertained on rainy or cold days. Highlights for us were walking up to the Monument (1hr hill climb) Ferry to Lyttleton, Daytrip to Christchurch to go round Riverside and the Escape Rooms, Walks around Orton Bradley country park, drive to Camp Bay, and lots of lawn games and BBQs with family. Nice cosy fire warmed the whole house on the cooler nights. We had heatwave to cold southerlys all in one week! But we were able to get out and enjoy ourselves every day. Our 10 days were too short, We are definitely coming back.
- Sara, January 2021Kirsten “Nice & close to the water for kayaking and liked the rural outlook from kitchen.”
No deck or outdoor area was a bit of a shame.
- Kirsten, November 2020Paul “We loved our family getaway here.”
Plenty of room for extended family and so many things to do, especially with kayaks provided.
- Paul, May 2020Jill “This property was perfect for our family, very safe and beautifully clean and well cared for.”
The manager was excellent to deal with making our stay very easy. Thank you Tracey
- Jill, February 2020Diana “We experienced a couple of warm sunny days while staying at this lovely holiday home.”
Didn’t need to use the fireplace, despite it being all set. Very handy to the beach. Grandchildren loved the space to be free. Very relaxing place with the call of the bellbird nearby.
- Diana, October 2019Raewynne “The house is great for families - plenty of space.”
A great place for walks and water play away from the city.
