Directly opposite the beach access this relaxed & well equipped holiday home was the perfect spot. Apart from a few wee maintenance issues (a temperamental lock on the back door - use the front; and a loose shower door handle), everything was perfect. Would definitely book again.

Door handle immediately fell off and shower head held up with duct tape. Fell down and hit child on head when we switched off shower - Lots of heaters, but no fans. Very hot at night in summer and fans would have been useful. - Drinking water from tap tasted muddy. Had to buy a water filter which only just helped improve it.

It made such a difference being able to bring our dog. Neighbours are all lovely. We did notice the shower heads need some attention, but were pleasantly surprised at the tv in the master bedroom and the kids toys. Thankyou very much!

There was no dishwashing liquid to wash items that don’t go in the dishwasher.

It was perfect for our young family: the kids stuff (small sofa, fold out chair, puzzles, bucket and spade) were an unexpected and very welcome addition. Great communication from the local Bachcare agent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again and recommend to friends.

I was waiting for one more sibling to arrive and the property manager had turned up unannounced like I was being accused of breaking the rules. I had paid full rental price for 4 days so I couldn’t understand the way she stormed in and gave me attitude. It pissed me off at such a difficult time for myself and my family. A phone call should have been suffice but I know I could feel racial tension and had the audacity to ensure it was clean like I was there to disrespect the place. We left the home tidier than we received it and even had paid the $125 cleaning fee. Because of that, I will not be recommending this place.

Well equipped, good airflow and quiet at night. Nice small deck for morning coffee and breakfast. on one side and a larger one for afternoon drinks on the other. All in all a great place to stay.

The location is fabulous- across from a wave beach and around the corner from a calm bay for paddle boarding/kayaking. It's also walking distance to a good cafe and the wharf. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The smart TV was also a nice plus.

The beach access was directly across the road and the house had everything we needed to make our stay a success. The house was spotless on our arrival, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to self-cater. We will definitely be back!

Modern bach great for families or a group of friends. Quiet area, all you can hear is the sea and the occasional pheasant. Need a car as not close to any restaurants or cafes. Great place to just chill out.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Beach Retreat is a 3 bedroom holiday home in Ohope. Located right across the road from the beautiful Ohope beach this property enjoys close proximity of the ocean, just a stone throw away! This Whakatane accommodation includes 3 bright bedrooms and open plan living with gorgeous wooden floors and a modern interior. The bright lounge area flows out onto the sunny deck through the sliding glass doors, and is just the spot to relax in the sun and create a summer meal on the BBQ! After a quick dip in the water soak up the sun on the bean bags out on the deck, or head in to Whakatane where you will find cafes, restaurants and cinemas (just 10 minutes away). Whether you're wanting to relax on site and enjoy the close proximity to the beach or looking to venture out on a hike or play a round of golf at the nearby Ohope International Links Golf Course, this well-appointed holiday home is an excellent option for your group. For surf, sun and fun, come and enjoy all Beach Retreat has to offer!
