“Overall this property has massive potential to be a wonderful place to stay.”
But unfortunately the gardens being so overgrown and not maintained caused ridiculous amounts of unwanted bugs throughout the property which made the stay uncomfortable throughout our time spent there. It is definitely far too expensive for what you get. I think the owners should look as deceasing the price especially since the property is not kept up to standard in all areas.

Ange “Fantastic property to stay in!”
Location was bang on! It was a rather cool day when we arrived, so the extra touch of having home already warm with heatpumps on was a real treat. Thank-you so much for having everything ready for fire making - this was most appreciated. Very relaxing home to stay in and was made very special in the fact that we were able to holiday as a complete family - 2 adults and our 2 fur babies.

Negatives: From previous comments you might expect that spiderwebs would have been removed and spider-proofing undertaken. That wasnât the case as webs were evident in the lounge area in particular, and spiders throughout the house. But the spiders werenât the biggest issue. That was mice, or perhaps rats judging by the noise they made in the ceiling and walls. Two nights without sleep because of the noise was just too much. Bachcare were summoned and responded quickly, spreading bait in the ceiling and saying it was unfortunate but âit was the season for themâ. If thatâs the case, surely action should be taken well in advance of âthe seasonâ. Unfortunately the bait had little to no effect and the rodents continued to disrupt our sleep for the remaining two nights of our stay. Weâve rented holiday homes in Hanmer for years. This was our first with Bachcare, and the most expensive weâve rented. We wonât be renting with them again. We needed a peaceful break, but didnât get one.

Katherine “This is a very nice house and in a great position being close to the village.”
It is quiet and spacious. The only small issues were that the gardener arrived unannounced and started mowing the lawn. It would have been good if they just knocked on the door first as the teenagers were sunbathing outside. The clothesline is also overgrown with trees. The price is on the high side but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Although not entirely the fault of the owner, we did have quite a lot of spiders in and around our beds in the bedroom, some of which appeared to be white tails, this was concerning as we have a baby, perhaps the house could be baited to help prevent this. The lawn mower man showed up unexpectedly during the day as well, without warning from the owner or as much as a knock on the door, we suddenly had a guy and a lawn mower in the back yard, not great for privacy and even worse for our baby who was sleeping at the time.

The fire was brilliant and kept the house warm and cosy. Yes the bathrooms and kitchen could do with an update but they are perfectly ok. The garden has been a well loved space and although overgrown I loved it. The roses are amazing. All in all this is a comfortable holiday home, maybe on the expensive side though!

We enjoyed Hanmer as a town. That's about as far as it went. The cleanliness was not good, there was mouse poo in the kitchen cupboard. There were spiders and webs in every room hanging from the ceiling. The place is run down. We were not even provided with a dish cloth even though we had paid for cleaning and towels etc, so we had to go and buy some at the shop to wipe the bench down. The gardens were overgrown and untouched. The lawns weren't mowed, until a couple of days into the holiday, someone turned up and entered the property while we were still there, and mowed the lawn! We had someone in bed feeling unwell. We had clothing out on the drying rack and kids balls on the lawn. For the price of the property, it was well overpriced.

However we found the property was tired and needed to be maintained inside and out. The checking after the previous occupier was not done properly as the main toilet was blocked when we first arrived. We had to call out the maintenance man to fix the toilet. There were light bulbs missing inside. The bedrooms were tidy and the linen clean. The lounge room was big and the couch was comfortable. We had just 2 tea towels for the weekend, needed 4. All in all, we expected more for the money we paid for the 2 nights.

Just one thing, you need to get some more dinner plates. There are only four which seems very odd for a house that size. Half our group had to eat off the three plastic plates that were there. There was heaps of knives and forks etc, but just not enough dinner plates. Otherwise, Awesome!

The gas pressure/regulator needs to be looked at. Wifi was dismal, garden needed a good tidy up, the switch above the bench for the under sink water heater should be labelled, Some additional cutlery and plates would be of benefit. The blinds need fixing and cleaning. One electric blanket did not have a cord. We noticed the letter box was stuffed with mail, have put in drawer in the entrance hall. We feel given the high rate charged, these negatives should be brought to the attention of the owners and maybe they are taking for granted that the location makes up for everything. It doesn't in our case!!!!

Lovely and private garden. Not dogproof for small dogs, though - they can get through the gate and the old glasshouse with its holes is always tempting too. Light bulbs needed for laundry and over the dining table. These are minor matters of maintenance. We love staying here - it was warm and comfortable in the middle of winter, and walkable to everything. That fire is amazingly efficient and there is plenty of wood. Thanks for a great stay.

Only a few minutes walk to the pools, shops and to forest walks. We found the garden lovely and being fully fenced was very safe for our dogs. The living/lounge is great to relax in especially with large sofa!! We will definitely be back !!

The fenced yard kept our dog safe and sound while we were out exploring the area and the big sofa in the lounge in particular was perfect for relaxing in front of the fire at the end of the day.

They are an easy walking distance to the village, pools & walking/biking tracks. Both houses were warm & spacious, important for a winter stay.. Bachcare provided a excellent service when we had an issue with the dishwasher in one of the houses & were short of barbecue gas. These were attended to immediately. We hope to use these houses again. Thanks for a great Hanmer experience.

We enjoyed the living area with the fireplace and the kitchen/dining area, which felt quite cosy. All in all a good stay for us, who travelled as a couple with a dog.

It's really close to shops and pool. The home is very comfortable and has plenty of room for a family. We had 6 adults and 1 child and there was plenty of room for us all. The garden is lovely and well fenced and very safe.

Plenty of seating inside and out. Sunny with a private garden and fenced for the family dog. We also loved its position 1 min walk to entrance to dog stream walkway and 3 mins walk to hotpools. Wi-Fi seemed to be oversubscribed...near impossible to get internet in the evenings though before 9am was good! Would book again if going with a large family group.

The fire had been lit that afternoon so the place was cosy and warm on our arrival. There was plenty of space for all of us. Great sitting space which I found lacking when viewing other places. Very close to main area but very quiet. I would say that the place felt like a home, not a holiday place, it was so comfortable.

Communication from the local Bachcare manager was difficult, she ignored calls and texts - which did spoil the stay. Service from the head office hotline was great but they could not solve minor issues (such as rubbish) on the ground.
