3 seats were provided for 4 guests. 2 seats were broken and the table was warped, with nails exposed. We felt this was dangerous and contacted bachcare, but our emails and phone calls were not acknowledged. Bedrooms were very damp, with mouldy curtains. The smallest bedroom was so damp our son slept in the lounge as it effected his breathing. Dishwasher was useless, crockery and glasses were dirty after being through the dishwasher. The dryer was useless too, and turned itself on and off at random. We found 3 smoke alarms at the property, 2 on top of the fridge without batteries and one in the bedroom which fell down on day 2. Not sure how this complies with health and safety regulations? The location of this property is excellent but having been there many times 20 years ago, when our family friends owned it, it was sad to see it so unloved.

Gorgeous spot and very close to the lovely beach. Had everything we needed although we chose to take our own linen to keep costs down. Would stay again and highly recommend.

We found the Bach bright and cool. Having 2 decks to choose from allowed for the sun and shade seekers to both be happy. The lawn at the back had great parking. We loved the bachy wooden warm casual feel of the house.

It was a great location for a quick walk down to the beach and a short drive to Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove. The cottage was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked for preparing meals, the yard was private, and the place was cozy and modern. A closed grill would have been preferable, but the open range grill worked. The only negative was that we were required to bring our rubbage to Whitianga (a 30-minute drive) since we were not checking out on the day rubbage is picked up at the curb. The property manager was quick to respond to questions. I would recommend this cottage!

Linen
Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Riverview Retreat is a 2 bedroom Cooks Beach holiday home featuring open plan spaces and a bright atmosphere. This home has spacious and comfortable open plan living, with superb indoor/outdoor flow. The floor to ceiling windows bring the fresh air and scenery indoors and allow for easy summer living. There is ample room at the rear of the property for the kids to play or chill out on the bean bags outdoors taking in the tranquil setting.
