Everything we needed and a perfect location next to the estuary leading to the main beach round the corner - would recommend bringing gumboots like we did to make the most even at high tide! A quick trip up Pauanui summit for the view was also worth it. We went in July and kept well warm with two heaters provided. Beds were super comfy and the shower and toilet have been upgraded since this listingâs photos were taken which was an added bonus. The main living space was a bit dimly lit for evening activities but the rooms were fine. Weâre used to the characteristic sounds of a Lockwood home which were mentioned in previous reviews, so they didnât bother us at all, albeit less frequent in the cooler months. Overall a lovely stay we would recommend!

We enjoyed our stay and felt like home, everything you might need is either provided or close by. Wooden houses tend to be a bit noisy, if you are not used to the sound or you are a light sleeper it might worth mentioning. Otherwise, very comfortable mattresses, nice open living area, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this stay! Thank you Jo for making us feel welcome and for your restaurant tips!

This property is the loudest one I've had the pleasure of trying unfortunately. Like heavy gunfire during the night. Keep in mind we stayed here during January so will be maximum noisy. Other than that it's great.

About the location
Just over 2 hours from Auckland, Pauanui is one of the most popular holiday towns in the Coromandel. Pauanui enjoys white sand beaches with a surf life saving club and a number of walking tracks including the Mount Pauanui summit track, which will give you stunning views of the coastline and out to the Mercury Islands. The town itself has many great cafes and shops, as well as a golf course. All of our Pauanui holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.

As the property has unfenced access to the bay, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water
All guests should take care when accessing the spiral stair case and use the handrail as they are steep and have varying rise and tread.
