A tree house indeed! This tranquil yet central abode was perfect for our long weekend getaway with friends. The living spaces are nice and open with thoughtful furnishings and amenities. The two bedroom two bathroom setup added a bit of lux to the weekend too. The listing is not kidding when they say you need a good level of fitness - I can imagine they would be quite tricky for someone with poor balance or an older guest. The steps were also quite slippery when wet so be careful! Overall, a lovely place to stay - we would consider staying again next time we are in town.

This Bach has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, we had a great time. Peaceful & quiet setting surrounded by bush. A really nice spot. As advertised, the stairs up to the house are not suitable for elderly people or those with mobility issues. Pauline & Leonard were great hosts cheers !

Absolutely loved our hideaway in the trees and didn't matter that it was late Autumn and quite rainy. Still lots to do and the log fire was wonderful. Such a well equipped kitchen full of utensils and lovely to have things like oil, spices, flour, kitchen cleaning things. The bed upstairs was incredibly comfortable and the linen lovely. Lovely thoughtful decor and very homely.

Great little Bach in perfect spot tucked in the trees. Lovely touches like the swinging chairs. Was relaxing place for a break, would definitely rent again.

Peaceful house with great character and views. Very relaxing with everything we required. Pleasant walk to shops and cafes. Super King bed in master was lovely and enormous (but beware if you bring your own linen, it might not fit). Quite a few steps up to property, so could be tricky if you have lots of bags or limited mobility.

Great bach to kick back and relax.. Bach is well set up to make for a comfortable stay

A nice secluded hideaway for a couple with a good deck and nice view. However, the access to the house is by a steep and rough set of stairs with much overhanging vegetation. At night it was not well lit and rather dangerous. As we had some showers on the weekend the vegetation and then us got wet when going up and down stairs. The second bedroom is under the house and accessible only via external stairs and seemed cut off from the main house. It felt a bit like kicking out the cat at bed time sending people out of a warm sitting room and into the cold night. It would be a grand place in good weather but a bit dark and secluded in winter. Not helped by an bizarrely complicated set of 4 or 5 separate dimmer switches controlling the main lights which we never seemed to get to adequately laminate the main living area.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the feedback - we trust you enjoyed your stay. We have suggested to the owner that he gets the vegitation trimmed to allow better access.

A perfect relaxed hideaway for a couple. It was hard to leave!

The treehouse property was awesome! A true bungalow up in the treetops. It was super comfortable for 3 people. The space is well decorated and we cooked all of our meals in the kitchen, with all necessary supplies provided. Be advised that the property has a ton of stairs! The location is a perfect distance from town & ocean. You'll wake to wonderful bird calls.

The Tairua Treehouse is an outstanding property. From the welcome treats, to the views of the hills and water, to the coziness of the living space...we thoroughly enjoyed it all. The contact locally was very helpful, and owners were thoughtful and understanding. We would highly recommend this property, as well as Bachcare, for anyone looking to spend time in this particular part of NZ.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very quirky but furnished to a high level. Easy access to town with lovely walks around the estuary. Key attractions on the Coromandel peninsula were easily accessible. Would certainly recommend this Bachcare.

Great place. Beautiful decor. Nice private quiet place in the bush but still super handy to amenities and beaches. Will definitely return.
