Had to phone Bachcare to find out where the key was located. 2. Handyman turned up to clean out gutters – in and of itself, not a major, but when added to everything else….. if this was the only inconvenience, it wouldn’t warrant commenting. 3. Handyman noticed there was a leaking pipe on the roof, so a plumber turned up to assess the water leakage on the roof and advised he would need to return to repair. 4. Second visit from plumber to work on the roof to fix water overflow from pipe. 5. A day or two after this, the hot water cylinder in the upstairs laundry started leaking through the ceiling tiles in the entrance hallway of the property. This necessitated a bucket being placed in the hallway to catch the dripping water (the bucket was about ¼ full in the morning). I emailed Bachcare when I first observed this, but with no response, so phoned the next morning to advise. 6. Plumber returned in the morning to assess the issue and advised that he would need to purchase a new hot water cylinder – this was ordered and delivered that afternoon. 7. Plumber returned the next day to install the hot water cylinder – this took 4 hours. 8. Plumber did not turn the hot water cylinder on, so on Friday night, we were still without hot water in the kitchen. This is after being without hot water in the kitchen since Thursday, when the plumber turned the hot water cylinder off to reduce leakage. A guest visiting for the day rectified the issue – had he not been there, I would not have known what to do. This was our last night at Beach Galore and I was wanting to clean the BBQ and the fridge – it was frustrating as I don’t like leaving the premises dirty. Again, I emailed Bachcare and did not get a response. 9. Plumber removed some linen and underwear from the hot water cupboard and left them out – they were covered in dust from when the plumber cut the shelves in the hot water cupboard to allow room for the new cylinder to be installed. Rather than putting them back dirty, I washed them and returned them clean and folded to the hot water cylinder cupboard. This is just one example of how I like to look after this property when we stay there. 10. In between all this, the microwave blew up – it started smoking and a strong smell of burning plastic could be detected. The knob that operated the oven fell off, meaning that the oven was unusable. These two issues were communicated to Bachcare via email and via the phone call to advise of the leak from the hot water cylinder – Bachcare did not respond to these issues. 11. The air conditioning unit in the living area was not working – as it was so damp and raining during our stay, it would have been great to have this working to remove the moisture from the air. The Bachcare area manager did come and reset it – this did not fix the issue. 12. Might as well throw in these last few issues that are relatively minor – the 4 slice toaster only works on 2 slices; the queen bed in the downstairs bedroom is very uncomfortable All in all, there were many disruptions and many inconveniences to our holiday which took away from our enjoyment. We’ve stayed in this property many times before and have always loved it and treated it with respect. I have emailed Bachcare with this feedback but have not had a response. I would like to discuss this with a real person as I believe there should a refund for what we had to deal with. I don't go on holiday to have to deal with tradespeople.

Our local team addressed the problems as they arose and the owners were proactive in fixing the all of issues including the roof, the hot water cylinder, and replacing the microwave. The local manager came around to fix the issue with the heat pump, we believed the issue to have been resolved and apologies that it reoccurred. Bachcare

Great location. The property definitely needs a clean, really disappointing that we have to pay a cleaning fee to holiday in dirt and clean up decaying mice through out the house, the smell was disgusting.

.... right on the ocean beach, you can step out to view the ocean waves only metres away..... so private and well appointed with everything you need, just arrive and you enter another world of relaxation, perfect for family get togethers, friends retreats, and team building stays for colleagues.

Disappointing and potentially unsafe property.

However, it needs a good clean. The furniture has not been moved in ages nor vacuumed underneath, one of our guests found stuff underneath his bed that did not belong to him, some of the mattress protectors on the beds need washing, the bathrooms need a good scrub. I'd happily stay there and clean for free accommodation!! On the plus side, the facilities at this property are fantastic and the location cannot be bettered, we love being able to step off the property onto the beach. We will return.

I've perused other properties at Waihi Beach and nothing compares to this. We love the beachfront location - so easy to go for a swim and return to sunbathe at the house. It accommodates us all (3 families) - plenty of space to get your own time out if you need it.

Prime location with only a short walk to the beach. Sunrises and sunsets were nature at its very best. A perfect family home. Siobhan couldn't have been more accommodating. A pleasure to deal with.

Beach Galore is a 5 bedroom 2 bathroom, beachfront Waihi Beach holiday home. Enjoying an absolute beachfront position, this spacious holiday home includes ample room for your group plus Wi-Fi. This 2 storey Waihi Beach holiday home includes generous, open plan living downstairs with views to the beach... Set yourself up on the front lawn for days in the sun with beachfront views! A second living area downstairs offers additional space, and leads onto a BBQ area for easy holiday dining. There is also a smaller, second kitchen on hand that leads onto decking... This is an excellent set up for extended family groups to enjoy their space! Bedrooms 1 and 2 are situated upstairs at this Waihi Beach accommodation, each with unobstructed sea views. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a super king bed plus 2 king singles, and bedroom 2 is fitted with a king bed and 2 single beds. Downstairs, bedroom 3 includes a queen bed, bedroom 4 is fitted with 1 single, and bedroom 5 is fitted with a queen bed and a single divan bed.
