Claire “The TV wasn't operating.”
The sky looked like it had been disconnected. We had an adult children with us who are very IT wise and they couldn't sort it. We rang the Bookabach but no solution. We re booked for next year please make sure the TV going so we can keep updated with the news.

The house is well appointed, warm and very comfortable. Even though the conditions on the lake were not good enough to take the kayaks out we appreciated being able to borrow the bikes and go for a ride. We had one small issue on our first night but this was attended to promptly the next day. As can be expected at 5 Mile Bay, State Highway 1 is only a couple of hundred metres away from the house so there was some noise from traffic at night. Even so, we had a very enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend this property.

Gorgeous house, beautiful linen, everything you need (we couldnât find the ironing board though). Across the road to the lake, amazing sunsets. Some used the kayaks, bikes and pool table. Beautiful deck. Road noise on the bedroom side of the house was noticeable but the street was quiet. Would highly recommend!!!

Didn't realize we could have used the new bbq until last day. The old one hadn't been cleaned and was not in a state to cook on.So maybe new one should be checked by the cleaning team . Otherwise a fantastic place to stay

Everything appeared to be well maintained and there was plenty of off road parking for my boat as well,which is a must. All in all a great place to stay with all the comforts of home.

So close to the lake for a walk and swim. The house had everything you needed and was extremely comfortable. Very nicely decorated too. The only downfall would be the traffic noise at night time. We will definitely like to stay again.

Everything was clean, comfortable and perfect for a family of 8. A 30second walk to Lake Taupo and many things to keep us busy from the pool table, Bikes and Kayaks. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

The kayaks and pool table made for great entertainment in the afternoons after outdoor attractions. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious and comfy. We will definitely be back!

The house was clean, comfortable and cosy. Our teenagers enjoyed playing pool, and we loved the location. The property is well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The alarm randomly went off one day. We called the property manager twice (for the code) but she didnât answer so we called customer service and the number they gave us didnât work!

Heather “Great holiday home for bigger families.”
The only recommendation is to supply a fire guard for families with young children. Otherwise all you need is there. Warm comfortable home.

The house had everything to make guests feel at home including very comfy beds. The traffic noise was a bit loud on the first night but the trade-off was the proximity to a quiet beach and a beautiful walking track along the side of the lake. Was closer to Taupo town centre than we expected. Thanks for sharing your home, weâd love to return!

About the location
Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday. It's out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, but still close to many of the bucket-list activities Taupo has to offer such as going out on the lake, visiting Huka Falls or even making the trek along the Tongariro Crossing.
