Linen
Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Kuratau is a classic three-bedroom Kiwi bach perfectly positioned directly across the road from the Kuratau River mouth. Relaxed, welcoming, and full of holiday charm, it's the ideal base for your next Lake Taupō getaway. After a refreshing swim or a day on the water, cosy up by the fireplace, or make the most of long summer evenings with a BBQ on the deck. The spacious, private section provides plenty of room for the family to spread out, whether it's a game of backyard cricket, outdoor dining, or simply soaking up the sunshine. Sleeping up to eight guests, the bach is well suited to families and small groups. Bedroom 1 features a queen bed, Bedroom 2 is equipped with two sets of single bunks, and Bedroom 3 offers another queen bed. Spend your days unwinding at the bach, exploring the nearby lake and river, or enjoying some of the area's renowned fishing opportunities. Kuratau is a popular spot for trout fishing and easy access to Lake Taupō adventures, making it the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful and memorable holiday. For a laid-back lakeside escape in a fantastic location, Kuratau is ready to welcome you.
Firewood is not provided, however the local convenience store sells bags of wood.
About the location
On the opposite side of the lake to Taupo, Kuratau is a small peaceful town with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Spend the day out on the water with kayaks, boats and water skis, or go fly fishing for rainbow trout in the Tongariro River. Being further away from the bustle of Taupo, it's also an ideal location for a relaxing holiday to get away from it all. All of our Kuratau holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.

Just as a Bach should be! The location is perfect, just a 2 minute walk to the lake and the river, very convenient for using kayaks. It is a peaceful corner of Kuratau and the bird life is wonderful.

It is situated on a large tree-clad section, about one minutes walk from Kuratau rivermouth & Lake Taupo. A reserve on the other side of the river ensures that bird life is abundant. It truly is a delightful place for a holiday. The Bach has every you need & is always clean and tidy.

Our family of 4 (plus 2 grandparents) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. Made even more special as by chance it was the same bach that the grandparents had stayed in on their first visit to Kuratau 54 years ago! As keen fishers and hunters we appreciated the selection of old books and obvious history on show.

Lovely spot and well set up house in beautiful surrounds. Very comfortable. Arrived in polar blast but house was nice and warm. Be good if some wood could be included for burner as shop was out and we had to buy in Turangi. Minor quibble. We loved it

The grandkids love it pently of swimming ,fishing and biking .the only thing is we got towels but no face cloths so people need to bring there own and this year we only got linen for 1 week .where last year we got 2 weeks of linen. We'll that's all see you next year.love the new TV and wifi

Has everything you need. Very quiet area with lots of native birds and an incredible lake view around the corner. It's exceptionally clean. Couldn't find any way of hanging clothes up though.

Elizabeth “We love this bach and the location.”
This is the 2nd time we have stayed her.e This time the overall cleanliness was better when we arrived; however, the oven trays had not been cleaned. The dishwasher leaked when you put it on more than a 30-minute cycle, which we contacted Bachcare about on 05.01.2. They acknowledged and had made contact with a plumber, but no one turned up before our departure on 11.01.26, probably due to the time of year. Our only disappointment is withBachh care charging $600 for linen for our 15-night stay. This was for 2 x queen beds and 4 bunk beds. The beds were made when we arrived, ed but when I queried about another delivery of fresh sheets during our stay, I was told that we had all the linen we were to get, and would we like to purchase more!!! Unfortunately, we had wet weather forth first week, so we had to take our sheets to Turangi to the laundromat to dry them!! We could have purchased a lot of sheets for $ 600 - this, unfortunately, is making it less affordable to come rent a bach each year. Previously, we would take our own linen and towels. Would be helpful to have instructions on how to use the TV remote and also the remote for the heat pump was really tricky. every time I used it i had several goes at turning it on and poking different buttons to get it to work. intensely frustrating and so time consuming, i suspect theres some kind of timer preset that I accidentally overrode to get it going each time. apart from that it was very comfy and cosy and peaceful thank you.

Very close to the lake. Warm and cozy with the heat pump and fire. The 4 bunk beds are sagging and not comfortable at all and really only suited to young children. We thought the front porch could have been swept or hosed down before our arrival by the cleaners. Loved our stay

The only thing was the stove top was broken we we arrived that didn't get replaced for 5 days later after reporting it on arrival bachcare said they would compensate us that as not happen we still waiting. But the holiday was great. See you next year.
