“This older-style bach has a fantastic location and lovely deck and views of the lake.”

It was pretty good cleanliness-wise, the kitchen was well-equipped and we really enjoyed our stay. Some ice-cube trays would be really useful! Be aware that the property is situated at the very end of a narrow lane and parking is limited. There is parking for max 2 vehicles. The listing could be updated to reflect that there isn't really any boat parking and even if you can squeeze your boat in, you have to be confident to reverse it 100m down narrow lane with a bend in it. We took a gamble ...

We took a gamble that there'd be space based on the photos, but getting the boat in and out was pain, and as such we wouldn't choose this bach again, despite it's other lovely features.

“The Bach was very comfortable and a great location!”

We were confused by there being 2 lockboxes (one on the steps) but eventually found the one on the side of the house. Are the leaving instructions up to date? They refer to an upstairs fridge and hot water cylinder, possibly in the garage, which we didn't have access to anyway. Other than that a great stay! We loved hearing the bellbirds and tui!

No access problems with bachcare this time, cautiously optimistic their systems have been sorted! You can’t beat Ruatotara for access to the lake combined with views

It was great to watch the tui's come and feed at the totara that graces the deck. Ruatotara is comfortable but aged.

“This is a gorgeous place to stay.”

The bush and the lake view setting were just what my two friends and I needed for a relaxing break. The house is well positioned to get sun almost all day with a large deck on two sides and it was also easily warmed in the evenings with the heaters. We enjoyed that the well stocked kitchen and comfortable lounge. It's in a great location too, being a short walk from the lake front and an easy walk through bush to the store at Omori. It's also not far from the Tokaanu hot pools and about an hours drive to the Chateau. We'll be back. Thank you.

Find your favourite spot indoors, or set yourself up on the generous decking for ideal summer living. This Pukawa accommodation sleeps up to 7 guests. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are each fitted with a queen bed, while bedroom 3 is fitted with 1 double and 1 single bed. Everything you need for a peaceful break away is on hand... unwind on the deck with serene bush and lake views, or set out on adventure with the lakes edge just minutes from your door. For a truly peaceful retreat, Ruatotara awaits you!

Property is accessed from the end of Fromont Lane. Property may not be suitable for small children, it is not fenced and the land falls away quite steeply from edge of the deck.
