“We absolutely loved this property for our girls birthday weekend away.”
Spacious, clean, well designed. We could not fault it at all. The views were amazing. 1 piece of feedback is to have an ample supply of toilet paper - there was enough but only just! We have all talked about booking it again so will definitely be back in the near future! Thank you so much!

- Georgia, September 2023Jo “This is our second stay at the beautiful Lakeside Estate (last time in March 2022), however our experience was nowhere as good and the overall condition of the property has deteriorated in this time.”
On arrival, Bachcare had sent us the wrong code for the lockbox and this had to be resolved by calling the call centre. Not a great start. Whilst we were waiting to hear back, we found one of the ranch-sliders was not locked so we gained access in the meantime until the key code was provided. We then quickly found out that although all the beds were made up, the majority were lacking pillow cases (so someone had made them up and left them knowing there were not completed!). We then discovered that there were no towels which are also part of the linen pack we had paid for. ANOTHER call to Bachcare, not happy. This issue was only resolved when a kind person from another property management company made a special trip to deliver linen supplies so that we could have showers and sleep comfortably that evening. Here are the other things which made our stay sub-standard, especially for the level of property that this is: ⢠The panel heater in the bunk room that is on a timer would not stay on which made this room very cold. ⢠The air conditioning unit control for the garage was broken. ⢠The Sky box has been removed, this nearly caused an uprising when the ABâs were playing on Saturday! ⢠There was no stock of toilet paper, only one on the roll in each toilet. ⢠The wooden floors were super sticky so felt like they needed a good steam clean. Overall, we are very dissatisfied with Bachcare as the property management company as it seems they have really let this beautiful property down. We plan to return to the property for our annual trip as it suits our needs perfectly, however we would need assurances that this would not happen again.

Susan “Trouble accessing property as incorrect PIN was sent via email.”
Resolved through two phone calls to help line. Received a phone call from property manager saying that previous occupants had seen mice outside and to be aware that there was a trap set in the garage. Mouse caught the next morning - advised property manager. Not sure if trap was cleared, but it was full again when we got home and not cleared until later the following day. Mouse seen in the kids bunk room later that night, so kids moved into a different bedroom. Mouse found trapped the following morning, but not removed during our stay, despite advising the property manager. The house itself is beautiful. We have stayed previously and it is our favourite Taupo accommodation. However, the issues listed above would make us re-consider using Bachcare again. The issue with mice meant that we were unable to use two rooms (garage and bunk room) for the kids, which meant we weren't getting full value from the property. It's a fabulous property, but having to worry about mice definitely took the shine off.

Beautiful view over the lake. Luxury living, warm, great heating. Just lacked consumables - no soap in any bathrooms or kitchen, no shampoo etc

I would definitely stay here again as would everyone in our group. Best property we've ever stayed in with Bachcare. Ali the property Manager was also super accomodating when we left some stuff behind and went above and beyond to get it back to us.

Lots of entertainment areas for both adults and kids. The only issue is the wall heaters are not working but electric blankets are provided. In general we love this holiday house. Will definitely come back when we visit Taupo next time.

We had a great time at the house but found the washing machine and dryer extremely frustrating to use and kept erroring. There was an element on the hob that didnt work and the floor was sticky when we arrived (needs a good steam clean). The layout of the house was so ideal for our family, we really enjoyed our stay here.

The property manager was wonderful and so helpful! We enjoyed being close to debretts hot pools and loved walking down but the lake! Heaps of extra blankets if you like to sit on the deck after the sun goes down! Will book here again!

It has an amazing view over both Lake Taupo and the snowy peaks of Mt Ruapehu. It's a three minute easy walk to the lakefront where there are good options for easy walks in either direction. The house is well furnished and stocked with a good selection of basic groceries. The numerous smart tv's and wireless connectivity make it a great house for all.
