Linen
Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Amazingly situated right on the water's edge, Lakeside Vistas Magic is ideal for a great all season holiday. In a fabulous position, located on the Lions Walk/Great Lake Walkway for cycling and walking and with a lovely large lawn area directly in front of the house on the lake edge. Able to sleep up to 10 guests comfortably with electric blankets on all beds, this Rainbow Point Holiday Home is a laid back and comfortable base for your Taupo holiday. Downstairs, bedroom 1 is fitted with a king bed, bedroom 2 has a queen bed, and bedroom 3 includes 2 single beds that can be pushed together to make a super king. Upper level bedroom 4 enjoys fabulous views of the lake and has a queen bed with an attached separate toilet and basin. This suite being located on level 2 is accessed externally with entry off the upstairs deck. Renovated in 2021, there is also a sleep out that is separate from the house fitted with a king single bed and a single bed each with electric blankets and also a heater in the room. A ramp onto the deck allows wheelchair access to all rooms with the exception of the queen bedroom on Level 2. Enjoy easy access to the lake for swimming, fishing and boating. Or, relax on the deck, take in the stunning views and soak up the sun! For a refreshing lake holiday in a fantastic location, Lakeside Vistas Magic welcomes you!
Please note bedroom 1 can only be accessed externally with entry off the upstairs deck.
Please note that the upper level of this property is not for guest use and will not be occupied during your stay (besides bedroom 1).
The beds in bedroom 4 are not designed as a king bed, but the two single beds can be pushed together to make a king bed.
As the property has unfenced access to the lake, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

About the location
Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday. It's out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, but still close to many of the bucket-list activities Taupo has to offer such as going out on the lake, visiting Huka Falls or even making the trek along the Tongariro Crossing. All of our Wharewaka holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.

Pip “Hi we love this house because of the location , and the staff from batch care were friendly and professional.”
Ideally we should not have to call them in. But we had no gas, no rubbish bags, no dishwashing tablets. No sink plug. Only one element worked on the stove at full. The single beds are not suitable for adults to sleep on, I'm so sore from staying in this bed for 4 nights i need to see my chiropractor. Some of the outdoor chairs are broken and dangerous to sit on. And the out door room leaks if it rains. Please fix these issues after all this is not cheap accommodation.

The house looks like it's still renovating but the furniture needs upgrading (The room with 2 single beds and living room). But on the good side thanks to the Bach team for helping us with our queries on the first day.

The place was very clean and tidy. The location was the selling point for us. A large playground on your doorstep with being a lake front property and walking distance to the Ploughmans Restaurant.

The bathroom could do with a bit of a facelift downstairs and the house could probably do with a paint. Some of the furniture was quite old. I realise it is probably only a holiday home however it felt a bit old and weathered. The house was in a great spot directly down to the lake but it wasn't cheap to stay therefore I think due to the condition of the house it should be reduced a bit in price to hire.

Big enough to accomodate to a big group. Unfortunately the master bedroom had some underwear(not ours) left in the bed, which was quite disgusting to find. A few things need fixing or replacing like the stovetop fan but other than that it was a great place for our holiday in Taupō.

Lovely location & views . Comfortable beds & enough room for everyone. Unfortunately the fridge needed cleaning & the oven . My husband wanted to make a birthday cake, & after only ten minutes in the oven it was burnt to a crisp. Settings on the oven needs fixing. Also main bathroom could do with some TLC as looking quite old. Overall a nice place for our celebration dinner & lovely family home.

Wendy “We enjoyed our stay as the location was very good and the beds comfortable, BUT some pointers, firstly the furniture in the living area needs to be upgraded as does the rug on the floor.”
We were lucky we didn't have young children crawling around. In the bathroom off from the laundry, the toilet seat was hardly attached, there are no hand rail or hooks to hang a towel plus a bulb needs replacing. In bathroom 2, the plug for the bath is shared with the kitchen sink and again a light bulb needs replacing and lastly the bedroom off the living area could have a towel rail or hook to hang towels. The sleep out which was clean was shared with rodents in the walls.( this can't be advertised as another room) It was a top end price for an average presentation.

Me and the family thoroughly enjoyed our lil getaway ! Waking up in the morning to such a beautiful view , the house was clean , Bach care& the owners were very helpful, accessing the property was very easy , would go back if the price was abit lower

Therefore we expected a minimum standard of accomodation. We arrived in the rain to find the lockbox so well hidden we were thankful it wasn’t dark. The front yard was unkempt, muddy and dangerous. No dryer, which would have been ok in summer but not in winter when you have young children.in the kitchen. one teabag. No washing up liquid. Other basics missing. No liquid soap in all the containers. Furniture old and uncomfortable. Beds were ok. One heated towel rail and 7 white towels creates a problem for a group. The location is excellent, so we made the most of it and had a good time. But we could not help but feel the owners were screwing us more than a little. Maybe they need to be encouraged to think about creating a more welcoming environment for people.

The location is first class with a beautiful view and the price was affordable. However, we didn't think the property genuinely had the facilities to provide for the maximum 10 adults allowed. We tried to be conservative with water use but the hot water system isn't adequate for 10 people and meant that some had to have cold showers. Seating was also crammed into the living area but can't really comfortably accommodate more than four or five people at a time. All that being said, we felt that the very reasonable price made the trip affordable for our group, and that you do get what you pay for. If a group of 10 is planning to stay here you just need to consider what level of comfort you are looking for, and how much time you want to spend relaxing there. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to stay.

A short walk/ride to Two Mile Bay, Five Mile Bay or even town. We swam in front of the house every day. Perfect for a family or group. The beds are really comfy and it is not a 'precious' house. We would definitely stay again.

Amazing location right on the lake the beds rooms inside the house were really comfortable. Great having two bathrooms. Lots of plates, bowls glasses etc. We had a fabulous time sitting on the deck in the sun reading relaxing going for bike rides and runs along the path then jumping into the Lake for a swim. Magical. Highly recommend just be aware it’s more suitable for 8 people not 10 as garage room requires upgrade.
