Outside, the expansive lawn provides plenty of space for families to spread out and enjoy classic Kiwi holiday fun. Challenge the group to a game of backyard cricket, let the kids run and play, or simply relax with a good book in the sunshine. The covered patio offers a fantastic spot for alfresco dining year-round, making it easy to enjoy long lunches and evening BBQs regardless of the weather. When you're ready to explore, the lakefront is just a five-minute walk away, perfect for scenic strolls, swimming, or soaking up the beautiful Taupō surroundings. Just a few minutes drive from Taupo Central, Two Mile Bay is a great base to relax and unwind after a day filled with all the must-do activities around Taupo. Staying here, you're minutes from Lake Taupo for days out on the water, a short drive from Huka Falls and Craters of the Moon and at a good vantage point for tackling the Tongariro Crossing. “There were only 3 rolls of toilet paper for 4 adults for 4 days so we had to buy our own.”

There was not enough dishwashing liquid but expected to wash our dishes as per the instructions, why should we have to buy our own? I asked if we could check in earlier but did not receive a reply to my last email the day before checking in. On a positive note the bed was the most comfortable bed ever.

The only concern was that there was a lot of pet hair which was a problem for my sick father.

“Absolutely great this property has an option of taking your pet with, touch base and ask questions early if you would like to do this (we left it too late).”

Would recommend looking at professional cleaner, whilst the property was superficially cleaned, it could really do with a proper clean and tidy up of stuff in cupboard, etc. The cleaning cost was automatically added to our stay through wotif, if this is optional on other platforms, I recommend you include it. For the price paid per night, I expected the home to be tidy and spotlessly clean.

“It was disappointing to pay $580 for two nights and to not find even a scrap of toilet paper in the house necessitating a visit to the supermarket upon arrival.”

There were lots of cobwebs around so I don't know when the house was last used. The batteries in the TV and heat pump remotes all need changing as they stopped working for us. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen seemed to have everything we needed. The pictures of the drive did make it seem a little wider than it was which would have caused us issues getting the boat up the drive for safekeeping. As the weather was bad though we left it in the storage facility. Might pay to say on the site that only for small vehicles or boats.
