Wharewaka Bach is a 3-bedroom plus sleepout holiday home located in Wharewaka. Enjoying lake views, this home is an ideal base for your next Lake Taupo family getaway. This bach enjoys sunny, open-plan living that flows seamlessly onto the sundeck framed and sheltered by the surrounding vines. Here you can sit back, relax and watch the world go by. With plenty of outdoor seating, in the warmer months, soak up the sun and enjoy a laid-back BBQ with your group. You can also enjoy a bath with a view on the deck! During winter stays cosy up by the fireplace in the lounge, chill out in front of the large smart TV, or enjoy the additional warmth with the pot belly fireplace in the dining space. You’ll love the close proximity to the Lake, just a 2-minute walk away, where you can stroll along the water’s edge and take in the expansive views of Lake Taupo. Or jump in the car and head to Taupo Central, just a 10-minute drive and discover. Come home after a day of exploring and soak in the outdoor bath. Wharewaka Bach welcomes you!

The coffee machine is a Nespresso machine. Guests must bring their own pods to use.

Please note that the third bedroom is accessed through the bathroom and laundry.

The sleepout at this property is accessed externally and the bathroom is inside the main dwelling.

About the location

Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday. It's out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, but still close to many of the bucket-list activities Taupo has to offer such as going out on the lake, visiting Huka Falls or even making the trek along the Tongariro Crossing. All of our Wharewaka holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.

    “The accommodation was very basic.”

    One of the beds was in the garage. Another was on the other side of the bathroom. I’ll fitting curtains. Plastic wine glasses.Nats covered bathroom which was unusual.No bedside table to lean an early morning coffee on. What looked like a spa pool in the photos was just an old bath on the deck. All in all quite disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone else. But served the purpose of somewhere to sleep with clean sheets and clean towels

The outside warm-water bath shown in the photos is not a spa pool, and a spa is not advertised for this property. There are plastic wine glasses available for guests who wish to take them out on boats, along with ample standard wine glasses for use inside. The sleepout is not a garage; it is fully lined with wooden walls, carpet, a heater, and a small fridge. One of the rooms does require entry through the bathroom as shown in the listing photos. The previous bathroom windows allowed bugs through, and the owner has since replaced these windows and the louvre to address this. The main bedroom and sleepout have bedside tables, while the two smaller rooms do not, and this feedback has been passed on for consideration. The curtains are new, and we will take your styling preference on board for future improvements.
