“Not impressed at all with property.”

Taps all loose, no pantry or adequate bench space in kitchen. Fridge too small to cater for families. Found black mould in pot cupboard, utensil drawers and possible mould on cutting boards. Disgusting. Informed manager brief apology given but have heard nothing from owners. Wont be back again.

“This is a great place to base yourself and explore the Sounds.”

It is a classic kiwi Bach, with everything you need. Clean and tidy, we had absolutely no complaints during our stay. The beds are comfy and the lounge spacious.

Very clean, and the manager was very friendly, helpful and available if we needed anything. I will definitely be using my credit vouchers to stay in this house again or any other bachcare property available to us.

“This is an older property that would benefit from some "TLC', but is generally well equipped and comfortable.”

It is positioned with nice views over Havelock and is located only a few minutes walk into the village/down to the estuary. The house has a nice fire which keeps the property warm upstairs, but it never quite took the chill off the downstairs section (stayed midwinter). Great to be able to take our dog with us, but please note the inside stairs are quite steep. We have only given this property 3 stars, as unfortunately we found the cleanliness poor which was disappointing considering you are charged a cleaning fee.

“The house was fantastic.”

Very clean and tidy and more than enough room for 5 adult males. And best of all it had room off the street for our 7.5 meter boat and vehicle. We will be back!

When all the wonder of this region is calling, and you're ready to explore the winding waterways of the top of the South Island - McFalls Bach might be just what you need to create a home base and to settle in for downtime in between the adventure. With comfy furniture, bedding and those essential appliances, this fuss-free spot is an ideal option for family groups as it can sleep up to seven guests and is even pet-friendly indoors too. This two-storey Havelock holiday home includes cosy living upstairs leading onto a dining and kitchen space that also then opens onto the BBQ balcony. The wood-burning fireplace is a great option for winter stays, or utilise the easy indoor-outdoor flow onto the balcony for an easy summer set up! The immediate area offers some great cycle and walking tracks, including the start of a couple hiking tracks at the top of the road for the avid hikers! Enjoy the best of both worlds with Havelock town centre and main street at the bottom of the road just a five-minute walk, the Pelorus Sounds boat ramp about 1km away, and the boat ramp for Queen Charlotte Sounds at Anakiwa less than 30-minutes away via a very scenic drive.
