About the location
Just a half an hour drive from Havelock and an hour from Blenheim, Moetapu Bay is an excellent base to explore the Marlborough Sounds. Head out on the water for some dolphin spotting near the Perlous Sounds, tackle the stunning Queen Charlotte track or simply take in the magical views from the shore over a nice picnic. All of our Moetapu Bay holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
As the property has unfenced access to the bay, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water
Please note - all water must be purified before consumption.
Due to the limited capacity for heating water, please be aware that all showers need to be short.
There is no washing machine, all washing can be done in the outdoor portable washtub.
There is no stove, but there are 2 hot plates, the microwave is also a convection oven, and there is a BBQ.
The car park is located halfway down the driveway on a small gravel area off the road to the left. Please park your vehicle under the Pohutukawa tree. There is enough space for 2 cars. Parking on the driveway is not permitted. It is a 3-5 minute walk from the car park to the cottage and it is steep in places. Please take the right-hand path at the first fork in the track (the left hand tracks heads back up to the neighbour's house). There is a wooden bridge 100m before you reach the cottage so please take care when crossing. Care should also be taken while walking down the track as there are lots of regenerative native trees and the track becomes slippery when wet. Please bring a torch with you in the event that you are arriving in the evening.
You are welcome to use the firewood, but please replace it with wood from the beach and store it in the woodshed for drying.
Please be aware that cell phone reception may be limited.
Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.
