Stayed April 2022A great 70's kiwi bach style, our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay and the kids enjoyed exploring and nature. A great location in the bay and close to surrounding areas to enjoy bush walks and water adventures. It would of been very helpful to have been informed of the information on the road closure on Moetapu Bay Road prior to arrival, with having limited phone reception we had to ask road workers the situation as we are not from the area. This impacted on which time we would depart the property. Especially important for future travellers if catching the ferry or flights. Roading info or a link to the council website would of been helpful as a note on the Bachcare property ID as this is an ongoing issue and sounds like it has been for months.

Stayed April 2019Location, location, location - fabulous spot in Moetapu Bay. It's very Kiwiana and whilst old and a little dated has almost everything you need for a comfortable stay including a dishwasher! You aren't paying top dollar so don't expect what top dollar gets you, but if you are after peace and quiet in an outstanding, affordable setting, where the views both day and night are fantastic, then this could just be the spot for you.

Stayed January 2019This is a great basic kiwi bach. Good for children although we had to drive to Moetapu Bay for swimming. Lovely views and very peaceful.

Stayed December 2018We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is very private and has its own beach access. It has a great (covered) deck with a fab view of the water and hills - perfect for relaxing outside in all weathers. The house has a unique interior that will bring back memories for anyone in New Zealand in the 70s and 80s - some things we didn't even realise we remembered. It is very comfortable with everything you need for a great (self-contained) stay.
