Linen
Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Perched right on the beachfront, Sounds Magic is a charming 2-bedroom Moetapu Bay bach offering a quintessential Kiwi getaway. Step out the door and onto the sand—this location is perfect for paddling adventures, with the option to bring your paddleboards and kayaks to use directly from the beach thanks to open water access at your doorstep. For boating enthusiasts, there’s a boat launching ramp just 500m around the corner, and you can moor your boat directly in front of the beach, making it easy to explore the Sounds by water. Inside, the bach features cosy open-plan living with a wood-burning fireplace, ideal for relaxing winter stays while enjoying uninterrupted views of the tranquil Sounds. In summer, the easy indoor-outdoor flow makes BBQs on the deck a must, with stunning beach and bay views as your backdrop. Bedroom 1 includes a queen bed plus a single mattress if needed, while bedroom 2 has a bunk with a queen base and single top, making this a great setup for couples or families. Outside, the location is simply magical. Wake to the chorus of native birds, stroll along the pristine beachfront, or enjoy a morning paddle in the calm waters. For the more adventurous, there are nearby walking and cycling tracks, additional beaches, fishing spots, and local wineries to explore. All this is just a short drive on sealed roads from Havelock. With its unbeatable beachfront access, native birdlife, and easy waterway access, Sounds Magic is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy everything Moetapu Bay has to offer.
As the property has unfenced access to the bay, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure safety around water.
Access to the property is via three steps leading up to the deck, which then provides entry to the bach. This may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
The top bunk bed is only suitable for children.
This property sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and 1 child.
Absolutely no dogs permitted on the property.

About the location
Just a half an hour drive from Havelock and an hour from Blenheim, Moetapu Bay is an excellent base to explore the Marlborough Sounds. Head out on the water for some dolphin spotting near the Perlous Sounds, tackle the stunning Queen Charlotte track or simply take in the magical views from the shore over a nice picnic. “After ringing to confirm lockbox code before we arrived, still had incorrect code, had to ring Sandy with bad phone connection.”
Had this same issue when we stayed 2 years ago! Also, came loaded up with food for our 6 night stay only to discover there is no freezer anymore!! Had to hastily cook anything that wouldn't last. Loved our holiday, but these things need to be sorted as still states freezer on info.
