Kids all loved it. Although the property wasn't fenced, we were allowed to have our dog with us. He loved it, and behaved amazingly well. The house was cosy, warm and very clean when we arrived...

This little house was ver comfortable and the perfect base for myself and 3 kids to stay (7, 10 and 12) during summer. Bunk set up was perfect. We brought bikes which allowed us to explore Ohakune and surrounds. Pump track at carrot park was lots of fun. Grateful for wood burner as it was very cold when we first arrived. Once weather improved house is a sun trap so was very warm.

Great place for small family

This is a perfect location for a nice breakaway. We loved how peaceful the place is and the kids love the lawns and biking paths to town. We will defiantly stay here again in future.

Lovely! A quirky but comfortable, clean and cosy chalet. Beautiful view of the mountain, which was a pleasant surprise. We loved having the fire and the beds were very comfortable. The layout worked really well for our family (with kids aged 11-16). I guess it might be less suitable for those with young children due to steep stairs and the childrens' beds being on an open mezzanine floor (not able to close the sleeping area off from the main room, and a potential fall hazard from the mezzanine to the main floor), and the lack of a barrier around the fireplace. None of this was a problem for us, though. We initially planned to bring our 2 dogs, but managed to get a last-minute vacancy at their usual boarding kennel. The property would have been excellent for the dogs to stay at, (note that it is unfenced), but we did find out that there are limited places that you can take dogs around Ohakune due to most of the walking places being on DOC land or farms.
