Kaye “Great spot for a few days in Napier”
- Kaye, November 2023Julia “Amazing space - great for small and large groups.”
Lots of space. We travelled with a 2 & 5 year old and it was great to have ample lounge space and lots of bedrooms to play in and spread out. Also had whanau over for dinners while we were here, so was amazing. Great location, close to the Iron Maori course.
- Julia, November 2023Lianne “We booked this accommodation for 7 adults to attend a family wedding in Napier.”
The property was large and spacious, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely book again.
- Lianne, October 2023Gay “Ngā mihi for the opportunity to stay in your lovely home.”
We had a great time, but all too short. Our whānau/family ranged over 3 generations, my daughter, her husband, my 2 sons and 2 of the grandchildren (11 & 4) myself and my partner (grandparents). The home was very comfortable for all of us although the downstairs bedrooms were a little cool at night (plenty of extra duvets and blankets though and we are in winter). We all enjoyed a whole morning of tennis in the sunshine and walked to town, including Miss 4, down the walkway nearby. Recommend 'Lick This' for a good walk to the waterfront and a lovely icecrem treat. The views from this home are amazing and all amenities were well maintained and high end quality. Just a wee note, the lock box number was incorrect and neighbour sorted it out for us. Overall, we loved our stay and highly recommend it to other families.
- Gay, July 2023Christine “Awesome house for big groups and good parking considering its on the hill.”
Having three toilets was a winner with our large group. We stayed as our daughters had their school ball and her and her friends got ready at the house.
- Christine, July 2023Inia “Awesome property, great views and plenty of space to spread out”
- Inia, June 2023Lisa “We enjoyed our stay in 2022 we thought wonderful, we will book again for 2023.”
We did so that same weekend before we left the property. When 2023 rolled around, Gabrielle messed things up. We tried to get a refund for our non-stay, and then things went a bit awry. After the debacle of asking for a refund because we couldn't get to Napier on the original planned day due to Cyclone Gabrielle. The 'act of God' clause didn't seem to apply in this situation. Never mind that the road was closed and there wouldn't have been power even if we could have made it through. We were offered a rebooking, and we wanted to book for Art Deco the following year. The booking was confirmed by the person i was speaking to. I waited to get an email confirmation, and when this didn't come through, I rang again. Mmmm, I was very politely told that our booking didn't go through because someone else had booked it for more than the two nights that we had requested. We had to find another weekend that suited our group because we were told that BC would not hold credit. And we were charged more money for the booking and cleaning! BachCare, you run a dodgy practice, and you caused a lot of angst in a difficult time. Pick up your act and look after your customers!
- Lisa, April 2023Nileshni “We loved our 2 day stay.”
Was very spacious and clean. Bonus was the tennis court which we enjoyed. Nothing to complain about. Everything was there
- Nileshni, January 2023Kimberley “We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time here - beautiful location with a short walk into town, lovely spacious house and great facilities with being able to enjoy a bit of tennis (when the weather allowed!”
).
- Kimberley, January 2023Shaheeda “Great house.”
Very spacious. Loved the location. Driving up the hill. It was an experience in itself for the kids. The kids didn't want to leave the property. :)
- Shaheeda, December 2022Kun “Very pleasantly surprised accommodation experience, great location, clean, ...”
Very pleasantly surprised accommodation experience, great location, clean, comfortable and quiet house, excellent tennis court, will come again next time~
- Kun, December 2022Matt “We absolutely loved the property, this will be our go to place to stay in the bay.”
Excellent location, only a few mins to town. Great space for large group of family and friends (we had family of four, a couple, plus another friend and there was plenty of room). We loved the tennis court and spent a lot of our four day weekend on here. The only suggestion is to have a more glass ware, such as water and wine glasses. We were a bit thirsty from all the tennis!
- Matt, November 2022Stuart “Awesome home for our short break.”
- Stuart, October 2022Sarah “Beautiful home to stay at, Highly recommend, very clean and tidy and well priced.”
A couple of things: no dish liquid for washing dishes and the tennis rackets were broken, but these are very miner. Thank you so much for offering such lovely accommodation
- Sarah, October 2022Tracey “We stayed in Napier for a family birthday surprise, accomodation exceeded our expectations .”

- Tracey, October 2022Karen “We were very impressed with this property and had a great stay.”
We enjoyed the spaciousness, comfort, warmth, and cleanliness of this lovely gem. The close proximity to the CBD and good parking added to its appeal. Will definitely use again.
- Karen, October 2022Anne Marie “Great stay.”
House was perfect for our group of 60year old long time friends. The only downside was the lack of basics such as teabags, pepper, gas for the bbq, ground coffee. We had to buy more dishwasher tablets and toilet paper. Would be good if bachcare checked these things before guests arrived. The house is fabulous otherwise and we hope to return with our family.
- Anne Marie, September 2022Joy “Close to town, very very nice, warm and comfortable.”
Great tennis court.
- Joy, August 2022Megan “We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property.”

- Rochelle, October 2020Kashika “I stayed here for 2 days and it was beautiful.”
Amazing property, amazing view would definitely recommend it. If you are going in winters, it is a pretty warm house except the office room. The extra tennis rackets in the house was a bonus. The pics definitely do not do justice for the house.
- Kashika, July 2020Piki “Lovely home, felt comfortable that we extended our stay.”

Close to city and well presennted. Tennis court a great bonus.
- Trevor, February 2020Gaye “This house is perfect for up to six people, particularly if they like to cook and BBQ.”
The view of the CBD and waterfront is stunning and the surrounding suburb full of interest. It is only a few minutes walk to the centre of Napier City if fit. For anyone with mobility issues a car is essential but once inside the house they can live on the main floor in great comfort.

Home is well equipped with everything a large group would need. It's was all high quality from the glasses to the white fluffy towels. Thank you
- Sue, May 2019Janene “Central City Gem was a lovely home away from home for our family, all of whom were brought back to Hawkes Bay for our family matriarch's unveiling, a year after her passing.”
While seven of us stayed in the home, other family members were staying in and around Napier and Hastings and this location gave us a perfect base to easily visit with everyone, and for us to decamp to. The tennis court was a nice surprise too and made for some fun for adults and children alike. We would happily stay here again.
- Janene, April 2019Kathryn “This property is a real gem.”
It’s a comfortable clean large home that was perfect for 5 single people to stay in while we attended a conference in Napier. So close to the city and conference centre
- Kathryn, March 2019Carol “Didn't notice garage need to be booked for use, but it still got a enough parking place outside.”
- Carol, March 2019Hi Carol! Yes, as the garage is not shown as available on the listing it is not available for guest use. If you are looking for a house with a garage, please keep an eye out for this in the amenity list. Bachcare

- Paula, February 2019Alesha “The name says it all - a real gem.”
Beautifully furnished, clean and so quiet. The tennis court was great fun. The little touches of nice soap, shower gel etc were really appreciated.
- Alesha, February 2019Amy “Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.”
The house has been beautiful renovated to a high standard and spec. It is situated 5 minutes walk from town down a bush track in a beautiful suburb. We will be back for sure.
- Amy, January 2019GDPR “The property was very lovely; the photos do not do it justice.”
The house is very homely, has had a very recent renovation, and is everything that we could have asked for. We had a great time there and it was so good to have somewhere that we could relax in, rather than feeling as though we needed to go out every night.
