Here, you can have a chill day out on the beach or if you’re looking for something a bit more challenging, hire a surfboard for the day. The surf breaks are suitable for everyone from all sorts of levels, from beginners to experienced surfers.

Mangawhai Golf Club

For those who love golf, Mangawhai is home to a world-class 18-hole championship golf course, The Mangawhai Golf Club. The golf course is consistently ranked amongst New Zealand’s top 25 golf courses. Since the club was first established in 1979, it has become a reputed club across the country including overseas, hosting big golf names from around the world.

Visit the Bennetts Chocolate Shop & Factory

Also known as Bennetts of Mangawai, is a famous chocolatier that creates French-inspired artisan chocolate. Their cosy cafe serves freshly made pastries and sweet treats with a menu that is updated every season. The Bennets Cafe is open from 8am to 3pm every day and serves both breakfast and lunch. Pop into their store to taste some of their delicious world-class chocolates, and bring them home with you as a gift, or for yourself. You could also observe experts craft chocolates in their factory.

 

Getting to Your Mangawhai Accommodation

The easiest way to get to Mangawhai is by driving, only a 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Auckland. Other options include taking a bus, however you will have to hop on a taxi halfway through.
