The property was exactly as it had been described and it proved to be the perfect place to spend our family holiday in Mangawhai Heads. Great facilities and very comfortable accommodation for 4 adults and six children aged between 7 and 13. We would have no hesitation in booking again. The location is so, so good for the Estuary. The fact that it was within walking distance really made the holiday!

The Property Manager had to be called in and even she couldn't get in. Eventually 1.5 hours later access to the property. The lock box needs to be replaced it is old and hard to get into. The mattress protectors were stained and needed immediate attention. The oven tray was dirty with oil in it. The property needed a good spring clean. Basic amenities like some cooking oil, paper towels, salt and pepper, foil and baking paper would have been beneficial.

We had a huge bunk room for them so they were not crowded in. There is an extra bonus of a games room. It was like i had the house to myself. It was excellent location with beach access across road. Just unfortunate we couldnt control the weather :(

The weather was wet and very cold and the garage was also damp and very cold with no heating whatsoever. Not a grat place for young kids But thanks to the property manager was able to find a heater from elsewhere

It is perfect for a large family in a great location close to the beach and the estuary. The facilities at the house with 3 double bedrooms, a large bunk room and large kitchen family room, the various outside decks and the games room for table tennis make this house hard to beat.

Minutes walk to the very child friendly estuary and 10 mins walk to shops. Very clean and modern and loved how decked out it was, the owners have thought of everything..... even a games room if the weather turns.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. Weâll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Oceans 8 is a modern 3 bedroom plus rumpus room Mangawhai Heads holiday home directly opposite the walkway to the estuary. This spacious and relaxed holiday base is an excellent group option, with sunny outdoor living and sea views to the Hen and Chicken Islands! This 2 storey Mangawhai Heads holiday home includes open plan living upstairs in the main house... wander out onto the wrap around deck, fire up the BBQ, and put your feet up with peaceful views. There is plenty of room for dining al fresco, or simply kick back and soak up the sun. There is 1 bedroom upstairs in the main house at this Mangawhai Heads accommodation, fitted with a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. Downstairs, bedrooms 2 and 3 are fitted with a double bed each. The rumpus room provides additional living space for your group, with 2 single bunk sets. A family bathroom downstairs, plus a toilet upstairs, complete the main house set up. The separate Boathouse has been converted into a family friendly games room complete with table tennis, lounge style seating and music, perfect for those balmy nights or rainy days. When you feel like heading out, the boat ramp is just down the road, and the Wood Street shops is an easy 5 minute walk for a choice of licensed cafes, restaurants and takeaways, including Four Square, pharmacy, fishing and tackle shop, service station and bookshop. It is a short 2 minute drive to Mangawhai Heads surf beach. For a laid back family getaway, head to Mangawhai Heads and enjoy Oceans 8!
